Rocket-Boy Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 The sheriff is not a Hubber....Shots fired!
Iwan Kemp Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Looks damn hot out there. 39 / 40 at the start of the event.
IH8MUD Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I think very few (if any) will sleep tonight . . most opting to ride through the 1st 24-hours.
Gen Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I think very few (if any) will sleep tonight . . most opting to ride through the 1st 24-hours.Perhaps also make the most of the cooler conditions.
'Dale Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Hey, we were raging about the slate ages ago, even reviewed the bad boy... http://teampuresavage.blogspot.co.za/2016/04/cannondale-slate.htmlRemember that It's definitely perfect for Munga time
'Dale Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I'll say it again Brave souls ????????????????????????????????
Red Robin Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Wow. The sheer magnitude of the race is mind boggling. Can't stop watching the dots.
Vetseun Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Another thing that I noticed at the start was the fair amount of riders with drop bars (road bars) on their mountain bikes.
'Dale Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Another thing that I noticed at the start was the fair amount of riders with drop bars (road bars) on their mountain bikes.Interesting tech choice ???? Mad Max looking If it works, it works
the nerd Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Another thing that I noticed at the start was the fair amount of riders with drop bars (road bars) on their mountain bikes. All about hand position, more options
'Dale Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 All about hand position, more optionsDefinitely aero gains too
EmptyB Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 All about hand position, more options...and I would need many options!!
TALUS Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I also think the Slate is a great option (I am often surprised how well it can keep up with road bikes) - only problem is choice of tyres or replacement tyres. Around 1.9 (maybe 2.0) in 650b. My original tyres are fine so far but some reports of sidewall cuts. I think the current best option is Schwalbe G-One but it will make for an expensive training tyre. What gear would the average rider be packing?
Vetseun Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I feel sorry for the riders. Riding into a 40kmph headwind until 20h00. And serious heat. Hard work
