Full statement from RCS directly.

A few days.. the race is supposed to be on 2 days time and from what I understand more teams have withdrawn and those who haven't would have to travel.

Not a classic and in a different country but wonder if Paris Nice will still go ahead

I fly out there tomorrow and its al scheduled so unless something changes in the next few days yes. However there have been tight logistical elements in play like Italian staff and so forth or riders and staff residing in Italy.

Things change in a day. Its normal this type of communication and teams have been contacted privately.

Are you crazy. NO BRAAI...this is a mad world.

Initial response to an event we been looking forward to being cancelled easily one of frustration or disappointment. However , that’s decidedly the wrong response. We should actually be saying, great news, the sporting feds and governments are doing the right thing by cancellations and precautions.
Likely every one of us at some point will be affected directly or indirectly by this thing.

So, no whining from anyone about a canceled race , or event , or marathon , or meeting , or holiday, or Sunday Braai.

You'll just have to lurk around the coffee shops of Girona then! :)

On a serious level, what are teams planning to keep race levels up, will it be a mad rush for a quick Tenerife camp and how will the teams who are still in lock down in UAE deal with the impact of time off the bike, is everyone Zwifting in their hotel rooms?

That is a problem in general more than levels, like there are points and all that also included. However for us we have done alot of shuffling of riders calendars the last 3 days. Its been incredible what has been done. But then it comes to coaches having to in some cases completely change training, annual plans and the likes.

For myself, with the riders I personally works 1 on 1 with, I have built a large 4 week block that will simulate close to or a typical 5-7 day Tour load as many were set to do Tirreno, Paris Nice and with a good portion behind the scooter to keep speed up.

The for some its a small blessing to be able to recover from some small injury or illness lingering.

UAE riders have been given a travel date but for now they all Zwifting or just riding indoors and doing some off bike strength work where possible.

No one is racing to Tenerife, they had a complete hotel on lock down there not to long ago due to the virus.

Great insight as usual. Thanks.
