This was so so so good - wind, rain, chill, grupettos and then a champion sprinter really demonstrating his athleticism

Brutal conditions… talk about peloton exhaustion, amazing n how many good sprinters could not main those high speeds. Fred’s bridge over to the leading trio has be rider of the day. That was real matches burnt and you could see he had nothing in the tank for the sprint. I expect to see more of him this year. 👍🏻

Mvdp is my favourite athlete of all time. #fanbooi

I’m liking the GC rider that can also ride the one-day Classics. 2x TdF wins, 3x monuments, as well as a number of wins on the shorter tours.

E3: The breakaway from hell for any chasing pack

Mathieu, Wout, Tadej (whose athlete type should not be there), Mohoric and a teammate from Mathieu and Wout to support them

Hehehe, commentators chirp as three now leads the race : "Pogacar is like the 3rd wheel on a date, with cyclocrossers vd Poel and van Aert..."

Yeah… the days of Eddie are upon us again with this generation. I think it’s amazing watching an athlete been versatile over the course of a season, especially the last big one the Tour of Lombardy! To me that is an rough and epic event to close up on, even better when a Tour rider can sneak a win.

I think  The hell of North this year will have at least 15 favourites.

7 days to Ronde; 14 days to The Hell of the North

Let’s first go Gent-Wevelgem - the race starts actually starts in Ypres these days with most of the hellingen in the final 1/3 of the course.
The last time I checked the weather it was perfect for waterpolo!

Broadcast starting now on SS. Looks like they had a proper wet start.

Currently on 162km to Go. GvA in the break with a lead of 3m30s

My money on Mads Pederson in this kind of weather. My heart would love a Biniam repeat win though.

The farmers' district roads on a wet and cold (sub 10 degrees) Belgian afternoon. A reduced peloton chasing a very competent breakaway, including Mads Petersen who recently bridged across at 2000 watts for 4 mins.

Brrrrrr!

And the Bumblebees dominates yet again with a team time trial escape up one of the hellingen. This one is victory for super domestique La Porte. With Sep turning back the clock with a podium spot to a thrilled Belgian crowd standing in the freezing cold.

Now to watch the women brave the wind chill. 🤩
