Hi,

Does anyone know where I could buy a set of these, approximately how much they'd cost.

My wife is looking for a new set of 650b wheels. She's keen on the rapide wheels but I want something to compare them to.

Thanks

I ride on a set of Spank hoops and they have treated me well in the short time that I have had them .... please post where you find the rims locally please, as I would consider getting a wider set in the near future vs the 21mm internals that I currently run.

Thanks for the assistance guys! I'll contact int trade and trailhead. I'd tried int trade's website bit dealer function wasn't working. I'll drop them an email.

I was really happy with my rapide wheels and they hard to beat in terms of price. But I reckon nothing wrong with looking at other options.

Spanks are well priced solid wheelsets, personally I think the alu they use are too soft - so the wheels don't pringle easily, but the get flatspots from just looking at rocks at lower pressures.

I'm  a big fan of Spank Rims.

Running them on all 3 of my bikes - Oozy's in 27.5 and Subrosa's in 29"

I'm about 95kgs in riding gear and give them a fair whack.

I've never had any problems with any of the wheelsets - been bullet proof for me.

Two sets running with hope hubs and one set with Thirteen Hubs.

If the wheels are built properly, you will never have any problems.

I've run the Oozy's on my trailbike and the Spike 33 on my jump bike - both perfectly straight, both with small flatspots from rock strikes (trail) and fufunu's (street). The rim doesn't go out of true, just deforms where the rock struck.  I run my pressures pretty high, but also ride fairly hard.

They've never pringled, lost pressure or needed tension adjusted, so I don't think this is a major problem, but resell value is close to zero.
