So the Time has come for me to look replace the front fork on my bike.

Exciting for some, challenging for me.

I need a straight steerer to fit onto my on-one which happens to be a twentynaainer.. seems from a very short interweb search at CRC, that I am looking for hens teeth.

I need the Hub oracle to tell me that there are options, preferably that will not break the bank.......

Good luck, dude. Those ARE hens teeth.

Can't you plop an external bottom cup on there to allow you to fit a tapered fork?

Are you guys saying that straight forks are no longer available.

I didn't realise that tapered forks had taken over completely

Straight forks are very hard to come by now a days!

Ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=29er+straight+steerer+fork&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X29er+straight+steerer+suspension+fork.TRS1&_nkw=29er+straight+steerer+suspension+fork&_sacat=0

If they do not ship to South Africa, use Aramex Global Shopper.  Ebay seller can ship to the local Aramex USA or UK office who will then courier it to your door.  I have done this many times with items that the seller says will only ship within USA/UK

Almost, Cane Creek has a headset with the Tapered Cup sitting outside of the frame.

I would rather go that route, change the headset and get a tapered fork, then you can at least use the fork going forward with less issues!

He has to measure his head tube to make sure this is an option. Last I checked it only worked on 44mm straight head tubes. Not all straight head tubes are compatible.

I have a used Reba RLTi (the one with some titanium internal bit).

Straight steerer, with maxle.

Full service last year, works like brand new.

Have been toying with the idea of selling it.......
