Be Aware - GLASS !!

Cycled around the peninsula this morning and there is a lot of glass next to and on the shoulder of the road. Some areas even in the driving area.

 

This just from a couple of holidays - eish!!

 

Why throw your bottle out the car?

Yeah I noticed the same, at the intersection of Durban Road and Liesbeek Parkway, there was a bottle between the left turning lane and the straight lane.... its quite pathetic how people can be like that... have they no consideration of the next person or the possible major accident they could cause by doing that!

The PE marine drive this time of year is like a minefield of glass,it sucks man,just zap it in the zibi bin.

Same issue all around the country. Durban roads are really bad.

If they make all glass bottles part o recycling and with a small fee for a slight deposit, this will stop instantly, I have never seen a quart bottle broke next to the road.

Now this is a brilliant idea, you don't find refundable deposit coke bottles lying around... just wish the SAB would step up to this though!

Durban is in a bad state ! Especially areas near the beach front . I find it really concerning... The fact that people are driving around drinking, and just casually chucking their empties out the window ... ☹️ Let's all go on holiday to durban .. and destroy the place ...

Hmm - heard from a mate who has a lot of workers in the back of a bakkie it is a status thing - especially with green glass which is a Heineken bottle. 

 

So by smashing it you are tough.

 

I am sure it is done with awareness of the fact that it pisses off the cyclists as the cradle is littred with glass every weekend....
