Fit Chef. Anybody tried it?

So here's my story.

I'm a roadie who averages 8-10 hours per week on my bike - either my IDT via Zwift or outdoors on weekends.

I do weight training twice a week at the gym.

I am 53 years old. I cook most of my meals myself with good healthy ingredients and limit my saturated fats. I virtually never drink sugary drinks and satisfy my sweet tooth mostly with dark chocolate. I don't have tons of coffee with sugar. I eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies. I drink very little beer, but am partial to a good Scotch (or two) a couple of nights per week.

I weigh around 83 kg and feel like I would be at my fighting weight under 80 kg.

I want to try Fit Chef's 21 Day Challenge to see if it helps me drop the extra 3 or 4 kg quickly. My aim is to do it after Argus in the weeks leading up to the Maluti Double 90.

Does anyone in Hubland have real life experience if the Fit Chef meals and challenge? Do you have any input/advice? Or alternatives?

I have tried the 21 day challenge and ended up not finishing the meals. It sounds like a good concept but what we found is that the meals are frozen so often after heating (either via microwave or oven) the meals are soft and lack fresh crunch. They are also not incredibly flavorful so we ended up eating the meals in between or with fresh vegetables. As for weightloss, I didnt lose any weight, probably because i couldn't stick to just the meals and I have very little to lose. It also came out more expensive than buying fresh groceries. I have seen alternatives where you get fresh ingredients delivered weekly and you cook those yourself. That appeals more to me as then i can choose what i want to eat and when.

FitChef is a good way to lose weight as the food is so sparse in calories. FitChef may be clean, but I see it a crash dieting. The food is also not that great. It is salted hectically to make up for the blandness. Their brownies are amazing though (and expensive). I would rather just cut the sugar, alcohol and fruit (to an extent), and you should see the weight fall off slowly.

I would definitely not recommend FitChet to anyone who is active.

I can introduce you to a specialist chef in the uk that will setup your meal plan and teach you how to cook it... (my mate tried fitshef and swapped to this solution)

Otherwise - drop the fruit out your diet and swap it to biltong... the 3 kg should drop off.

Also started banting and lost about 4 ks this month. (first month on the diet)

Foods also tasty and I haven't been craving the carbs as much as I though I would.

I would be very interested in this if the offer is open to others?

I started using UCOOK a few weeks ago.

You choose meals before each week and they deliver fresh ingredients and the cooking instructions/recipes.

Super easy, and quite fun to make. Good quality food and you'll surprise yourself to how tasty a meal you can make..

Especially good if you don't have time to go out and buy food.

This ^^^^  I Went on a Banting diet and went from 92 down to 76 and have maintained that ever since. The thing with a banting diet is that it is a lifestyle that you can maintain. Fitchef is not once the diet is over if you have lost weight you will regain it as your diet will slowly return to what it was.
