So the summary I have from scouting the international forums yesterday:

Then I would hate to see how long it was to start with, 'cause that stem is pretty long on the first pic...

Not. It has a pivot along the chainstay. 

 

That really is how simple it is to differentiate between a single pivot and a multi-pivot bike. Does it have a main pivot and another pivot between it and the axle?

Well what is clear to me after reading all of this is that I obviously have no understanding at all of Mountain Bike Suspension or any other technical bits. Clearly I paid no attention in any class whatsoever.

 

My bike has a Virtual Pivot Point so I guess I need not worry about it as it might not actually exist?

vpp = multi pivot. Santa cruz or intense or ibis? Or giant... loads of them, actually.

but it is. 

 

It's got an uninterrupted bar from the main pivot to the axle. Hence, single pivot. 

 

It's a linkage actuated single pivot design. Yes, it has flex in the seatstays, but that doesn't mean it's not a single pivot.

So seems like this is the new 2018 S-works Epic FSR.

 

Interesting that the FSR has been replaced with Single Pivot Design....Flex like Scalpel / Spark.

 

The Horst link has been the hallmark of the FSR suspension forever. It keeps the suspension active and neutralizes the effect of pedaling force and applying the rear brakes on the suspension.

 

No SWAT  ??

 

Wonder what the Head angle will be and more importantly the Fork Offset .........
