Sweets daily - effects now and in the future

Its not luck nor easy... i have to work hard to keep my weight constant.

Its a constant give n take situation, the more you take (eat) the more you have to give (exercise and sacrifice).

Most of the time i eat sweet stuff out of habit not because i really crave it...but as soon as i feel my pants getting a bit tighter i reduce intake and increase exercise and so it goes..round and round

My mind is weak

JIP, thats me .... slightest change in eating plan and I feel it on my waistline ...

Somehow the main meals are not an issue for me, the snacks are easy enough at work (routine..)  On holiday I still eat the correct types of snacks, but often more of it ...  only a few days and I feel it.

Also has an extreme sweet tooth.

This has resulted in a fatty liver with a count which at one time was too high. Started taking medication and cut back on the sweets. The tests showed a reduction in the count the past year for which I am grateful.

Must reduce my sugar intake some more but it is difficult.

If sugar caused diabetes I should have had it years ago.

Imagine my dilemma - I've got a sweet tooth as a type I diabetic!

I try cut back on excessive carbs, especially refined or high GI.

But to satisfy my vice, I drink plenty of "zero" cold drinks, all loaded with aspartame. Now that's another story which I'm too scared to consider.

I struggle to understand how people "enjoy" aspartame filled diet foods. Tastes like chemical soup and I get light headed and slightly nauseous after eating anything laced with aspartame. For instance Coke zero, I can have 2 sips max, that's it I can't drink anymore.

V12man, what can cause severe headaches after strenuous exercise?

Try not to eat anything during excersice and see if you still get it .. often over carbing can cause it in some people

Sorry,see you tried that already

Reading this thread has made me realise that I am lucky as I don't have a sweet tooth, can't stand fizzy drinks and never eat chocolate. Honestly don't know if I would be so self disciplined if I did actually enjoy sweet stuff so it's really easy as I don't like it.

At home and work I use "Eetless SUGANON"

No aspartame and no cyclamates

1 tablet contains 15mg Sodium Saccharine

Ja i know, sounds like something from Saddam Hussain chemical weapon factory.....

Another sweet tooth here.

I'm addicted to baking, biscuits and cakes are my weakness.

Over the previous two months, I was eating an average of almost a kg of biscuits every week (mostly Cape Cookies cos my wife couldn't bake fast enough to keep up with my demand). So my diet for the day during the week was tea (three spoons sugar) and biscuits for breakfast and lunch, and then usually a very big and mostly healthy supper.

I'm 32 years old, and I'm pretty lean as I do MMA twice a week and at least a two hour MTB ride every weekend. I don't sick too often either.

Not sure if my bad diet was a contributing factor, but over the last two month I kept getting boils, but really bad one's, two on my back, one on my finger that almost made me lose a nail and just recovering from one on my elbow.

I'm also suffering from post nasal drip and Cluster Headaches at the moment...

So decided to take it easy on the baking for just over a week now. Having a 'proper' breakfast cereal, having a fruit for lunch and then proper supper as usual. Keeping the tea to one cup (dropped the sugar to 1tsp) in the morning when I get to work with no biscuits/cake. I do still have another cup in the evening with just one or two biscuit/some cake.

So hoping to see a change now that I've decided to cut out a bit of the sugar and eat a bit healthier... let's see what happens.

Holyshit, dude! 4-5kg biscuits a month! I thought my occasional Oreo binging was bad.

I share your addiction. Sweet baked goods are my kryptonite. I'm not fussed about sweet drinks, chocolate or most other sweet stuff, but I have the bad habit of 'treating' myself with some cookies and biscuits over the weekend.

Yeah, Holyshit is right, and I didn't even mention the other random chocolates and junk I used to eat during the day.

I really went on a sugar binge... thankfully my body let me know in a suttle way that I was f'ing it up, or at least I think that's what it was saying.

I always get light headed, but I think it's more to do with the gin or rum I'm having with the Coke Zero or Lite Tonic!  :whistling:

Another 1 here that enjoys the baked goods. Not good if your wife is busy baking for the Heanertsburg Spring festival. All you smell when you walk into the kitchen. Often enjoy a late night cup of milk with cookies. Weight has luckily been stable for the last 3 years.
