Sram Etap or Frame upgrade?

I'm still to be convinced about electronic benefits.

So as the others have said, possibly more noticeable benefits to be derived from frame/wheels.

That said, any (very) good Etap deals going around.?

so for road, electric is better. but not a defining difference. it is still better

nice to have it shift absolutely perfect every time, no matter how dirty the bike is. and never worrying about tired cable inners and outers is superb. ie cable drag.

on a mtb, it's a game changer.

for the same reasons above.

its just more obvious because of the dirt.

Thank you for all the replies

Ive been looking at these....

https://www.canyon.com/en/road/ultimate/f-ultimate-cf-sl-mechanical.html

As the frameset, comes to about R19.2k ex shipping and taxes. I think all in the price should come very close to a Chapter 2 Tere @ R25k. The Tere wins hands down in the bike porn department. The Canyon is better known tho so ja.

Or this as a complete bike

https://www.canyon.com/en/road/ultimate/ultimate-cf-sl-8-0.html

Will then sell my focus complete, maybe get a 4iiii power meter from merlin for like R8k and all should be sorted again.

Price looks a little high, Remember to set your country to UAE when on the canyon site.

Also remember there's an extra 15% when bringing in the full bike rather than just the frame plus the shipping is more.

So this is my Focus

I have got a pair of Light Bicycle 45mm wheels laced to Hope RS Mono hubs. the complete bike comes in at about 7,8kgs as per pic and Id like to save some weight if thats possible.

The Etap will be nice but Ive seen a this and I like it alot

The Chapter2 that Iwan posted is soooooooooo nice and its definitely an option. Its maybe not a well known brand but its still cheaper than a Canyon(Ultimate R23k ex shipping and taxes).

That said, theres absolutely nothing with my Focus, ive got an itch...thats all!

SLAM THAT STEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Few wasted watts right there.

You got those irwin wheels and the LB wheels? Your FOCUS is lekker but so are you other options. I am just jealous you got 20k itching in your pocket.

Having left the mtb world I failed to consider the benefits of electronic there.

Point taken.

So the Etap is en route and will be here by the end of the week.

In other news, i had a crash in the durbie dash where in damaged my focus and the insurance paid out to replace the frame.

Im in 2 minds regarding a Giant TCR adv and the Chapter 2 Tere. 20k TCR Vs 25k Tere

Well, you know what you'll get from the TCR - great bike. But that Tere made me step away from my desk for a bit. That's a stunning design. If it rides the way it looks, it gets my vote for sure

Any reason SRAM don't make XX1 Etap then? Or is it on the horizon?
