Jewbacca Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Perfect...thanks man, gives me a clear idea of what I need to do. Besides some skills lessons Any other opinions would be greatly appreciated?I would suggest a plus bike. Seriously. It grips well, it rolls brilliantly, you aren't being timed on the ups and the racing is that awkward slow technical stuff which a plus bike eats up. I had a 650b SS Mercer. Last year I was infinitely faster on the same bike but managed to get to the bottom all the same. I ate an entire factory of s**t on stage 5 and put myself out of action for a while, but it could have been worse. Don't bring a Merida 26er, but pretty much anything modern ish will do the job. It comes down to speed and comfort. I would love a big ass dual suss 140mm plus bike for Ezels. I really think that would be ideal.
NicoBoshoff Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 wow that's awesome, i soema will start riding a bakpack nowJa, I don't carry a pack or my bike really so...but still. Pretty brilliant solution.

Jewbacca Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 You like sidewall slashes?I don't think you run the risk of a sidewall slash more on any bike there... You won't run it at 1 bar, but maybe at 1.4. A 30mm ID rim with 2.35 tire plus Foamo you can probably run 1.7 bar but have less volume and grip. Danie rode a 29+ hardtail with 100mm travel to 11th place overall. No sidewall cuts.
dev null Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Excuse my complete ignorance here, put is a + bike only one with fatter tekkies?

Lekker, thanks man
Odinson Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Excuse my complete ignorance here, put is a + bike only one with fatter tekkies? A plus bike is one with 2.8-3.0 tyres on +35mm ID rims.
T-Bob Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Compulsory for Ezelenduro: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/peakrider/peakrider-the-first-bike-carrying-system Pretty clever actually. Money is down... Hope that they get it going faster than the scottish power meters I backed that haven't got out of testing nearly 2 years back!

Odinson Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Myles, what was your 'bro name' on your race plate?
Jewbacca Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Myles, what was your 'bro name' on your race plate? 'bro name'... hahahaha I think it was meant to be a jibe at the racer by the organisers! hahahaha
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 Myles, what was your 'bro name' on your race plate?"Highest post count wins" ????
DIPSLICK Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I think it all comes down to why you ride a mountain bike. I speak under correction but I'm pretty sure Myles and most people that do enduros ride for the descents, the exhilaration of riding fast and technical terrain that gives an adrenaline rush like very few other experiences can. I definitely consider myself among this group of descent driven people. Fortunately, and I speak purely for the Western Cape here, we don't need to do 1000+ metre elevation gains to ride some of the best descents in South Africa. This probably makes us Cape Town okes complacent when it comes down to getting some serious T.I.T.S which is a very important aspect when it comes to any competitive cycling format. As for you Myles, I also want to thank you for the write up as it has inspired me to finally commit my mind to seriously train for and participate in next year's event. Super stoked for that one! Ignore the haters for they are few and the lovers are many!
DIPSLICK Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Boom Thanks Question asked,,And I got an answer ,as I said I don’t know the discipline
Matchstix Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I was wondering these days. . since everything needs to be deserved. . . should you be allowed to ride down a hill if you didn't pedal to the top to deserve the downhill fungasm?
