Did you even read the article? No. She has a questionable past. She made a point where everyone was ready to crucify over the missed doping tests but failed to mention how she was tested the very next day, each time. I get stopped for a DUI and tell the cop I'll pop in for a blood test tomorrow? They're surprise visits for a reason.

The problem, as pointed out, is that due process is not fairly publicised, only the stuff that makes headlines and clicks happen get a mention, the rest is ignored. True but smoke is smoke.

I still cannot believe there has not been WAY more criticisms levelled against the UCI for allowing this leak, or whichever agency was responsible. If athletes private information can be leaked so effortlessly, there's a larger problem afoot.. If not leaked would any of us know that, on GT results, one of the greatest riders of all time had a doping violation? (If he doesn't crash CF will 'walk' the tour. In the modern era only Armstrong and Indurain have dominated to the same extent - pity there weren't more leaks during their time at the top)

It's asthma medication for ****s sakes... So why has he got more of the stuff floating around his system than any asthma patient would? Others have been banned for less.

Firstly, how can you even begin to comment on an article or the person who's option is therein contained, when you haven't yet read said article?

Secondly, the point of surprise visits is exactly that.. How would you expect a professional to plan that into their day? You're not making any sense here meneer.

Thirdly, the case is quite clear. The result, and the follow up actions taken by Mr froome and his team shouldn't have entered into the public domain in the first place, until resolved. He should have a reasonable right to be tried like those who have also been through the same process with particular privacy during the resolution.

I'm all for baselessly hating someone, but at least be fair from all angles before you do so, otherwise you just prove yourself to be a brainless fart and should keep the bias for the rugby stadium.

Because it no longer matters what gets said, but rather who says it. #IdentityPolitics

I'll just respond to the fun paragraph. If I'm going to 'baselessly' hate someone it doesn't make sense that I 'be fair from all angles'. That's a contradiction.

All farts are brainless, so saying 'brainless fart' is redundant.

I don't give a **** about rugby.

btw I think CF is an amazing athlete but to think Sky are above board is naive in the extreme.

SKY being above board is totally separate argument to that of the one being made by the one in the article about this case being leaked though.

Lizzie Deignan (Armitstead), she of the 3 missed anti doping tests....

Just waiting for Mo Farah, Bradley Wiggins and Paula Radcliffe to comment.

I don't know but I'd bet that positive would have sorted out behind the scenes if it hadn't been leaked. Thank god for stuff being leaked, otherwise Zuma would still be president.

To be fair that is exactly how the UCI/WADA rules dictate it should happen.

It wasn't a banned substance - it was a controlled substance. Controlled substances require the rider to explain how the amount in their system exceeded the limit. If the rider can't justify it then there is a ban - if he can then everything carries on like normal.

I can understand people baying for blood when a banned substance is found - a controlled substance not so much.

Its good Lizzie has spoken up on the subject and I concur with her sentiments.

I think she is also talking from the bitter experiences she had in the wake of those missed tests - that fuss really proved destructive for her, and remember the lynch mob? Led by The Wig no less. Figging hypocrites, most of them.

Like you say they are a surprise, but surely that would mean that there are is real good possibility that the person won't be home at that specific point in time. They may be out at the shop, or even out training seen as we are talking about athletes here, and in cycling athletes do spend many long hours  on training ride, physio, rehab, strength work, sponsorship meeting  etc.

Seen as all the tests were conducted the following day, its evident that WADA has foreseen these incidents and hence have made provisions, such as notifying the athlete and summoning them the following day as not to give the athlete time to get rid of any drugs that might be in their system.

The problem remains that many journalist / pundits etc want their 5sec of fame and are quite happy at slandering athletes names just to feel some self gratification about their measly life. Yet the innocent athlete will always have the stigma hanging over them. In an ideal world we as the public should only know about guilty athletes !

Froome Dawg may be touted as a legend especially with a 5th maillot jaune.

But this political mess, his exceeding of more than double of salbutamol and the highly questionable and unethical nonsense from his team is tainting his achievements.

Pity.

However, he will never have Weet-Bix for breakfast unless by choice. His wallet is bursting.

Good old tall poppy syndrome.

As an example MicheltonScott have a convicted doper leading their TdF quest and their line up will most likely include a local rider who dodged a bullet Froome style not so long ago. Why are the social media lynch squad not harassing these guys? They are, after all, guilty of the very things Sky have not (yet?) been found guilty of....

But they make cool backstage pass videos, and are likeable.

I think they just as questionable as everybody else, but they achieved what SKY tried to achieve, being perceived as clean. They just went about it in the right way, by being likeable..... very clever.
