I think there will be some great racing this year with or without Froome.

- Sagan will still be top of his game

- Have a feeling that Quintana will go even more backwards

- Both Nibali and Domoulin will perform

- The young Auzie will win more sprints

- Cavendish will most likely crash out of season early and probably call it a day after this season

- The French youngster (forgot name) hopefully will step up and ride to his full potential (think Bardet)

I wonder how Cav & co are going to shape up this year -  will he get back to his winning ways? I have niggling doubts about that, but all the best to him. Must be a bit tough to transition to not being a winner, but then again  he just has to check his bank account to perk him up.And with sprinter, when you stop winning, it's game over.

Lil' Lous? I dunno but all the best as well. Fabio, nah.

Will Vincenzo strike it rich at Le Tour? I reckon he is on the podium.

I think we will see more of Julian AP on the podium elsewhere, and other up & coming newbies.

Predictions

Sagan gonna take 2 Classics, of which One Monument, possible Paris-Rouxbais

Phillipe Gilbert to take 2 Classics

GvA to take 2 Classics

Kwiatkowski to take a classic.

Grand Tours

Tom Domoulin to take TDF comfortably, Louis to place top 5.

Giro gonna be LIT, with a new winner, maybe Aru.

Vuelta, Nibali, by the skin of his teeth.

Sagan to miss 4th world Title due to a breakaway succeeding.

There, now go place your bets on everything else, cause mine will definitely not come true. :)

Dumoulin is doing the Giro....thereafter he'll decide if he does TDF or Vuelta (Vuelta will be in support of Kelderman and prep for world's TT)

Sagan to miss his 4th world's as the course is too tough for him[emoji22]

Nibali to win big this year..either TDF or world's

Anyone think Aru will stand out this year? For something other than crying I mean.

All depends on which Aru pitches to which event..I am sure he will be very motivated and I am keen to see how the new look UAE does.. they made some big name signings.

My husband always gives me a weird look...but I like Aru..yes I make fun of him where I shouldn't but he wears his heart on his sleeve and he is never scared to give it a go if he feels okay.

I agree.. He races. He doesn't just suck wheel and stay with the bunch and when he isn't 'there' you can see it hurts him.

I'm really hoping it's a big year for Nibali. He is a joy. Having him and Aru racing a grand tour without the skybots controlling things like a sheep dog would be glorious.

Throw in some Mick Matthews, Sagan, GVA, Zacharine fireworks and some Stage hunting poncheurs and you have some pretty awesome viewing.

I may be unpopular in saying this but I would love to see what the current racing would look like without Sky.

The only way there won't be a team Sky is if Disney pull the plug on them.

In the very unlikely case of Team Sky not being there racing will probably remains the same as the next strongest team will most likely use the proven Sky blueprint to control the races.

Chris saga, one possible outcome: its shown that he did not intentionally over dose on his Asthma muti - eye witness are called to testify how many hits he took and its all reasonable, various medical studies and reports are done and submitted,  none of which produce the silver bullet however he has shown adequately that there was no malicious intent and does not give some bollox Spanish Steak story,  he concedes that he can not adequately explain the high dosage. He is given a slap on the wrists and misses the Giro, does not loose the Vuelta victory and appears at the Tour.

Agreed. "same but different".

Pretty much the same here - except we should actually be at a few stages of Le Tour and La Vuelta. . . . . ;-)

Yup.. it's a recipe that has worked since the Postal days...can't see anyone changing it... the only difference is sky have the strongest riders therefore they dictate the GTs..if any of the other teams had a squad with the depth Sky have they would be on the front and we would be saying we wish they weren't there.
