I'm on that bus, hopefully our optimism is not misguided.

Although it looks like Merhawi has been riding past him recently quite a lot.

 

He has the ability - we've seen it in two TdFs - it has to be training/illness/lingering injury/something.

 

I do think Merhawi has one or two great day in him - possibly greater than Louis but Louis has 3 good weeks in him. He isn't the most exciting rider but his slow poison style works for long, hard tours.
