To wax or not to wax!

Why do you want to wax?

And "because that is what serious cyclists do" is not an applicable answer.

Why do you shave or wax your legs?

Of you can't answer that, you'll have some seriously embarrassing questions at dinner parties.

Have you ever asked Froome, Nibali, Impey etc. or do you know the answer?

It's the OP's prerogative.

Clearly you've never had a roastie where it took months to get healed as a result of hair growing through the scab.

Clippers work perfectly and you're done in 5 minutes. Cost of clippers is recovered after a few months.

Try the other one.

If you shave, the hair will start growing out after a few days. If you wax new hair will sprout. not one of these methods permanently removes hair.

If I were a roadie, the only I reason I would shave is/are/was/were (pick one) that I would otherwise look like a wookie and that would be sad.

The girls run away when men talk about leg shaving at parties...

Most of my mates shave rather than wax....

Was a half serious question but decided against it... mainly because the wife had an evil look in her eyes when I asked if she would do it

She had this in mind....

If you shave your legs, and someone asks you why you shave, and your answer is "because that is what serious (real, pro whatever) cyclists do, expect some awkward looks and people seeing you as a poser.

Froome et al get massaged frequently. Then it makes absolute sense. When I used to get weekly massages it was worth it.

But for a rider who'll see a massage therapist only once in a while, it's more of a poser thing.

I have hadany roasties, in all forms and sizes, and I still get roasties every now and then. The hassle of shaving/waxing legs overshadows the pain of the occasional roastie for me. By far.

Roasties taking months to heal? My roasties usually take about a week. Even the tyre burn I had didn't take that long. I think there might be some other issues there if it takes that long to heal, and it's not as if you can shave leg hair where the roastie is, and hair grows back in a week.

Don't you find that clippers leave a stubble like feel akin to sleeping in sheets of fiberglass?

Because the cocktail of sunblock, dust and sweat, matured for several hours on your legs, is disgusting. It washes off bare skin well enough but any leg hair stays greasy no matter how much soap is applied. So just shave(or wax) it off.

That's a new one.

I'll agree, it's quite disgusting, but I seem to not be having the same difficulty as you in getting my hairy legs clean.

Just shave. Once a week, 5minutes and your done. Remember to clean the bath to avoid altercations with swambo.

That's what showers are for...
