Provide them with a Shimano part number, the shop and the importer: "It does not exist" .... "but you can buy it on CRC"? ..... "It is only made for CRC" .... "but you can buy it on Evan's Cycles" .... "It is only made for the UK" .... "but you can buy it on Bike24 & Hollandbikeshop" .....

Popular Shop #1

me: I'm looking for a 30t cog for my rear cassette.

shop: sorry but you can only buy complete cassettes as you cant take a cassette apart

Popular Shop #2

me: I'm looking for a 30t cog for my rear cassette.

shop: they dont make cogs that big for road bikes

Why would you want a single cog for a cassette? Am I missing something? Are they available loose? Did you eventually get what you wanted?

A 30t chainring is another story though.

"Do you have brake cable outer with Teflon inner sleeving that you can fit?"

"No."

"Are you sure? I can see it in the workshop on a roll."

"In which case, we do."

If you could see it, why'd you ask if they have it?  :whistling:

This is NOT to bad mouth a shop hence we do not name anyone, I am just sharing the funny side of things.

A friend just send me this after he got his fork back from shop.

My fork that was creaking. So I took it to SOMESHOP for a lowers service. I get the bike back and the o-ring on the stanchion is on the left side and not the right side where the markings on the stanchion are. I query it as according to me it's incorrect.

He says it irrelevant where the o ring is as it does not do anything to the performance of the fork and he deliberately does it like that so he can see if he has worked on a fork or not ...

I asked how do I to set my sag correctly? Now I have to use a zip tie and then cut it again?. He says by this time I should have a feel for it.

He also pumps the fork to 95PSI when I normally ride 135 and says it is one PSI per KG on a Reba RL 2018 and the chart on the fork is wrong.

*END Quote*

Why would RS put the air chart if it is wrong?

Why do we have a sag indicator and the Stanchion that has numbers on it?

95psi when that rider is 90kg = HMM

Why fiddle with the air if you only doing lower service?

That sounds like a certain "bike shop" in Durbanville, which uses bobbejaan spanners to loosen shock air cans...

Went to a Sportsmans Warehouse to buy a cassette lock ring removal tool. Was told that they don't sell them. I was then told that they don't have a tool in their workshop either and that you don't need one to remove a cassette.

They use a hammer and screw driver to loosen the lock ring.

So what if I took my Lefty too him?

Will he:

a) put the o-ring on my handlebar

b) red cutex on the stanchion to "leave his mark"

c) let's not test him

Seriaas.

Not even a cloth to cover the air can. Can see the tooth marks from where it gripped.

Also - a Revelation wasn't getting full travel "because it has an all mountain damper, not a cross country damper"

erm.....

Oh my god.
