Decision Time...

Hey guys,

 

I have narrowed it down to these two bikes and need to make a decision now on which one it will be!

 

Can you guys weigh in on which bike makes more sense for a weekend warrior having some fun with his mates. I can get both models at the same price - the Specialized camber comp being a test bike and the Giant Anthem 2 being brand new. Any other suggestions are welcome but may just confuse me even more;-)

Between the two I would go for the Camber. Both are brilliant bikes, but the Giant Anthem is an XC race bike where the Camber is a XC capable trail bike. The Camber will be better on the trails, has slightly more travel, and a dropper. It definitely makes more sense for a weekend warrior whose main objective is fun. Make no mistake, the Camber is race capable - one of my mates finished 3rd at the 36One on his Camber this year.

 

If your objective was to race I'd reccommend the Anthem.

Trail bike which is better for weekend warriors 

Trail geometry make the trail and tech stuff a lot more fun

Swat door in frame is uber cool 

Dropper is a game changer

Test bike has gone through new bike depreciation so better value IMHO 

 

Cavet - the 28t does spin out on distract road if pace is hot 

 

I bought one recently ,  highly recommended.

It's like the apple world not cheap and some even hate it but both work well for me ;-)

Hate to say it, but between the two I'd go for the Spaz. But if the giant was a trance...

Been to spaz in Edward Street last week and they had a carbon comp not sure if it was a epic of camber for 39k might be old stock but given its a carbon in the same price range I would go for that.

I have had 3 Anthems in a row and loved them... BUT if I could afford a new bike I would be looking at the Camber or Stumpjumper 6fattie (and then get another set of 29er rims for the longer days) 

The Anthem is a great bike but for a 43yr 100kg 6" Mamil I would like something with a little more travel.
