stefmeister Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I will check if the small will fit, but the medium has the correct seatpost length for me. The small will have the correct reach and wheelbase but the seatpost length will be too short. If I was built more like an orangutan then these super long bikes will fit me better.Seat tube lengths shouldn't be an issue or a critical parameter if you don't have short legs.
Dieter ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I cannot wait to see the bike with some decent decals! The bike looks really out of proportion at the moment with the current setup. They are placed on the chunky parts of the bike which just makes it looks ridiculous. There is absolutely no flow and the triangles within the bright decals further break up the irregular shapes. Can you post a rendering in a single colour or a side on view of the bike raw?

PS, trying to work out how you are going to sit on a bike from geo charts alone is pointless. My current bike is 4mm longer than my previous on paper, but in reality the saddle to handlebar measurement is 20mm shorter than the old bike. How far the seatpost is out, where the saddle is on the rails, and the actual seat tube angle, as well as where the seat tube is in relation to the bb makes a massive difference - and can't be found on geo charts anyway because it's unique to every rider.

The general trend of the "modern xc geometry" is longer a top tube, reach, and wheelbase, as well as a slacker head tube angle. I know what my perfect fit is, and most of the new bikes seem to be too long on paper. Scott is the exception, the bike was designed for Nino, it probably has the slackest head tube angle of all but the reach and wheelbase is a lot shorter in relation to the seatpost length. The Scott can only take 1 water bottle, I think it might be a case of stretching out the bike to fit a second water bottle.

Simon123 Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Keen to see final production versions. Seems like a list was formulated of what the target market for it wanted, and then the product designed to meet as many of these as possible. Not my segment of bike, but the concept for what it's developed for I do salute Momsen.

Bring on the orangutan geometry i say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sick of bikes made for Jewbacca.
DieselnDust Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 yip - like the Enduro Bikes and those that cannot take 2 in the Front Triangle - it is just an option that does not cost anything and for those that like to do the serious endurance stuff ( self-assisted and no water points for hours ) this adds some value and shows we care about the details and a lekker place to store that soft tool case that also acts as a down tube protector...
Hairy Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 exactly. What i don't quite understand. 6 months of refinement, but the pic is clearly of the March version.pic at the epic makes it legit!
