A very expensive product is by definition low volume, hence any definition around its demand is relative. I guess Rolls-Rolls and its South African business is an analogy of sorts for this.

My issue is more that the comparison of a really expensive set of wheels to a Macbook only actually misinforms non-cyclists further. MANY wheels weigh less than 1.8 kgs - that's not what makes them special, yet it's the headline of the article.

You couldn't pay me to ride that - it is fugly! I can see this bike bring ridden by someone like Connor McGreggor. Basically it's a bike for someone who likes to show everyone else how much money they have.
