I guess Rolls-Rolls and its South African business is an analogy of sorts for this. But if you want them locally, you can get them. In both instances (Rolls-Royce and the wheels). Officially. Dunno... our housekeeper sees a VW Polo as very expensive (no offense to polo drivers, just an example), but not exactly low volume. I see these wheels as very expensive, and I know that I can get far better for far less I guess the problem with the original article is that it appeared on the hub. Was actually just the link to the article on the hub. My issue is more that the comparison of a really expensive set of wheels to a Macbook only actually misinforms non-cyclists further. MANY wheels weigh less than 1.8 kgs - that's not what makes them special, yet it's the headline of the article.
