Mine was "Here he goes again" then 2min later the whole group is strung out trying to hold on lol

I kept hoping that I could light the fire in everyone's bellies to do a bit of bike racing.

I see my head at the back, I was very happy we were close to the top lol.

"Ag you don't need to warm up they will take it easy over Helz"

Part of the reason I rode to the start from Somerset West ;)

(And too many bad memories from the Stellenbosch Cycle Tour!!)

This was the guy in KreepyKrawly kit when he realised his bottles were empty at Silos.

I might have laughed at him, and then I tried to squeeze that last drop out of my bottle, and I felt the exact same emotion!

Im rolling on the floor, Ja, that was me in the Kreepy Kit, I kept looking at all these sexy half full bottles around me, I started with x2 750ml , a 500L energade and a 350 water in the back pocket, still was not enough, I remember those Os trying to suck the other ones camelbak, and made a bee line to get off that wheel, accident waiting to happen, what a great day out

i was out in front of the bunch when i heard the ohhhh, looked back and saw the one on the tarmac holding his head, saw the second one on a white bike going for the bushes......All i said to my self...wasn't me....glad you guys are ok and nothing too serious...

I was about 10m to left of the first rider that went down- glad to hear everyone is "ok"

@mental_mamba were you the guy with the mutual safes kit with the slipping gears? You should get that sorted, scared the crap out of me  especially after that crash :whistling:

At least the announcer got it right this time, I heard him say "170km fun ride" a few times. That's cause everything is a fun ride - if you're brave enough. Beta of 2 you say? Well I guess it's beta than 1.

seeding is out. Beta is 2

I finished more than 40 minutes behind the winner, spent the first half of the race waiting for the bunch, and the second half hiding in the bunch, staring longingly at all those riders still with juice in their bottles, and they give me a seeding index of 7.83? This now means that there will be guys with hairy legs, CamelBaks, and sleeveless tops who now have an A seeding!!

My Garmin thought I'd been taking it easy, and only recommended 27 hours of recovery for a 215km, 6h50 outing.

I am assuming those that finish all got a boost in their seedings

From the times I started in A, I don't belong there. D-E this year was perfect for me, most of the time I get seeded based on my K2C time which I guess is accurately penalised. Sadly not doing Langebaan this year so my road seeding won't see much use until Argus time.

Think the one Tonner is tricky as you can either sit in the A group do very little work on the front and get a good seeding or you can ride it as a team of 8 and spend 1/8th if the time in the wind.

Think our effort reflects our index of 7,42. That was 4;58 with the last 60km between 3 riders taking turns.

Have to laugh though, as was just sent this pic which may prove Dane’s point ????
