Food for thought when someone launches a late attack:

On GCN recently they shared the findings of a study looking at the Power savings a rider has with a TV motorbike up the road. The number are bonkers!

Moto 50m up the road:7% reduction in drag

Moto 30m up the road:12%

Moto 10m up the road:23%

Moto 4.8m up the road:36%

I actually don't mind this, it promotes some exciting finishes and late attacks.

and helps Frenchmen wins stages!

Wout van Aert is the closest rider to the yellow jersey, only 20 seconds down on Julian Alaphilippe but his team’s tactic is centred around a bunch sprint for Dylan Groenewegen today. “Dylan is our main leader in a stage like this”, the white jersey holder said this morning. “He is in my opinion the fastest rider in the peloton. If we deliver him to the right position, he will be able to win. It’s true there is a climb at the end of the stage, but we are confident Dylan will be able to cope well with it.

Would love for Wout to be holding a secret late attack on that climb in his back-pocket... That way the other teams need to chase him and Jumbo can just pitch with their sprint train at 1.5km to-go if they do catch him...
