Commuting puncture protection. What do you run?

Recently having suffered multiple (some avoidable) punctures on my commute, I'm interested in hearing what everyone is running and how often they get a flat. Tubeless/rimstrips/armoured casings... What do you run and how well does it work? How does it feel/roll in comparison to other setups.

Tubeless tyres, stans, and puncture repair kit (pump, bombs, plugs and tube). Run tyre pressure slightly harder when commuting.

works most of the time, all the time!

Years ago I commuted with my road bike to work, I punctured 3 times using using all my spare tubes and ended up running the last 2kms to work it was a bike over my shoulder type thing, proper bricking session. A few of my colleagues drove past me and I just smiled and waved as if I planned it all.

What tyre volume. Mtb size or gravel range. I did exaccery what you did but low-ish volume gravel tyres at unchecked (3bar but I try to keep it at 4.5bar) pressure under heavy load didn't live up to the calling.

Commute in Bellville

LOTS of thorns along the route.

MTB with tubeless, and slime ....

Also running harder pressures as the MTB tires flex too much on tar.

I have removed MANY thorns, and have topped up the slime a couple of times !!  The system really works nice !

Road bike, 25C Continental Gatorskins - I haven't had a puncture commuting on them for over 3 years - I ride in the southern suburbs CT, commute pretty much every day. I have had one puncture on a training ride with a gatorskin, I carry bombs, glueless patches and spare tube in a saddle bag *duck*.

I did have lots of punctures with my first bike, hard tail MTB - ended up changing to city tires with puncture protection as well as running tire liners, was damn heavy and slow though.

okay im on MTB with MTB tyres, keep it around 2.4bar.

where you commuting to and fro?

Ah. From d'urbanvale to bellville. Mostly in the yellow on tarmac but usually littered with glass and other pointy things. Some of it (St John's Road) I'm doing the gravel next to the road.

Tubeless with Stan's. I'm on a 26er with Crossmarks at the back and Mountain King (2.4) in front.

Can't remember when last I had a puncture - not in the last 2 years.

My commute (1 way) is mainly on gravel next to road or pavements, with some Spruit in the middle.

How heavy are we talking?
