oooookay.

Best Rampage I've seen in a long time. The scale of the drops and jumps was just INSAAAANE. Adolf's super-drop was astonishing and had my mates and I totally gobsmacked...

Bummed that Lacondeguy messed up his 2nd run though - it was on track to be amazeballs, but a well deserved win for Brett Rheeder.

agreed wrt Adolf's run, that was just sheer madness going that huge. that particular feature hit by adolf + 1 was jaw dropping to watch.

but that scoring system. Andreu strung together some pretty rad moves. More so Ethan Nell, yet Ethan was 3rd, Andreu 2nd. In comparison (in my view that is), while Rheeder's run was pretty impressive, i didn't feel it ranked higher than either Ethan's or Lacondeguy's.

btw: of all the moms and wags at the finish coral, only Adolf's wasn't all teary eyed despite her son taking a massive stack.

that's pretty damn hardcore (she's a basejumper).

same reason ppl call their kids Donald?

Well, it would be interesting to see how many babies have been christened Donald in the last 18 or so months, but I find it odd that any child born after 1946 is named Adolf.

I worked in the Nineties with a guy named Adolph as it was a long standing family tradition but he was so sick of the crap he put up with because of it.

As for Rampage, watched it yesterday and I honestly don't think television does the sheer size, scope and steepness of the drops any justice. It was nuts.

Bummed Semenuk never got a full run down.

Bucket list event for me.

Andreu should have won ...

ITO tricks and line, I think so too. But Rheeder's run was just so smoooooth. I think AL got docked cos of the slight over-rotations on his landings, especially with that 360 on the last big jump where he landed with the rear catching up to him, whereas Rheeder's run was also STUPID big, but so smooth.

if that's the case, then anyone that links tricks in quick succession is aiming to not-win. the mere fact he went with tricks in quick succession shuold have scored much higher in terms of difficult than the aesthetic of the landing. this wasn't supposed to be a slopestyle comp. Proof of latter comment is in brendog's score. that was just *** tbh. the line was burly, and it was damn unique. Only Jordie Lunn's or Semenuk's line would have been more unique.

Those PB/vitalMTB comments regarding scoring first runs after they all done is an interesting option.

yeah, I agree. I loved AL's run... And Brendog was robbed. :P

It all looks very civilised and fluid and awesome until you see the POV helmet cam stuff then reality hits home.

The gaps, steepness, magnitude and sheer madness of it all amazes me every year.

Brett was very smooth and clean, I'm happy with his win.

Hilter .. sorry Adolf, got the People's Choice, his run was pretty wild, hoo0j

So happy there was no serious injuries, I kuk myself for these guys who put their lives on the line like this.

No article or threads on Bike Hub?!?!? As an event its about as far removed from the W2W as you can get, but still deserves some reportage here I think...Admin?

I thought this years event was a real spectacle. I think the spacious venue made the rider's lines more interesting and the newcomers and old guard put on quite a show.

I find watching this event inspirational. The insights into the rider's hopes and fears that you glean from the interviews and social media generated by the event are very interesting.

I found Fairclough's boulder line about the most natural and gnarly of the lot. The rock reminded me of the big boulder roll on The Plumber at Jonkershoek only 10x (110x?) harder and more scary. Silva's massively long drop was radical - pity he fluffed it up at the end. Visually, I liked Nell's 3rd Place run. Camera work on Andreu's run was poor but he may well have deserved the win. Rheeder has all the style but I would have put him second or third.

Biggest disappointment after Zink pulling out was Semenuks failure to complete a run.
