Was commuting home yesterday (approx 16h30) from Sandton to Fourways and unbeknownst to me my saddle bag's zip decided to give up the ghost. Long story short I lost my car key somewhere on the route. I took Benmore Road, right into Outspan, left into Ballyclare and then down onto the Spruit. Found a CO2 bomb on Ballyclare this am but that was it. Pretty much ride on the pavement most of the way.

If you per chance found the key or multi tool please drop me a message!

Just got a quote, R8.3k for a replacement!

As was mentioned in the Motorcycling thread. Check with your insurance, they should cover replacements (at a charge probably)

Pretty sure insurance does cover it but thought I would do the search thing first.

Tried the raquet club and Morningside Police Station - will give the petrol station a shot at top pf Ballyclare.

as soon as it is sorted, please let me know what car you drive that the keys are so farking expensive.

The key is only part of the cost. Dealership labour to code the new key is usually what makes the cost so high.

Bit late for you I know but after I got home from a ride and saw my backpack had unzipped itself I then started using one of these attached to the bag to keep my keys on....

Had a great laugh one afternoon in Tokai forest when we got back to the parking area. Dude finished his cycle, took his Camelbak off and put it on he cars roof while he started loading the bike on the tail mounted bike rack. Big male baboon grabbed the Camelbak because he could smell the banana inside and climbed up a big pine tree with bag and all. There he sat trying to open the bag, which among other valuables, contained the precious key of a real smart shiny Merc. No amount of swearing, pleading or throwing pine cones at the thief helped. Mr Merc wasn't going home until the baboon got the banana out and lost interest in the bag and dropped it. By that time the Camelbak was bitten full of holes and torn to shreds, but luckily the car key still worked.

Hope you find it! Miracles do happen.
