Still looks wet and windy - character building conditions ;)

But is it worth the risk before 1 tonner weekend .. that is what going through my mind........  either people ride sensible in wet, or go down left/right/center.

and with new route .. it seems like going be fast one ..

Looking at the current forecast a canoe might be more appropriate ;)

On the bright side it looks like I will get my new bike tomorrow . I might have to save it for One Tonner as her first event  though - "dam' weather! ...at least we'll be able to shower good and proper this summer!

Thunderstorms starting at 0600 and 86% chance of rain between 0600 and 1200. Guess that's me out.

Not going to go from deep South to Paarl to ride in those conditions. Entry fee a donation then :-)

What a wet, cold and miserable affair.

Got rained on and a headwind, from the time we turned onto the R302 (Malmesbury road).

I was riding with a friend, that was having a bad day. I sat on the front, into the driving rain.

By the time we got to the Fruitsellers Stop, I had a few stragglers sitting on my wheel, none able to help, and my friend had nothing more to give, so we decided to rather abort, and make the +-15km to my house, instead of battling into the wind till the Kromme Rhee turnoff.

We first had a cup of warm coffee at my home, dried ourselves off and got into dry clothing, before driving back to the start to collect the car we used to get to the start.

Still worked out to a nice 65km/h ride for me, with a 20km stint into the wind, with no help at all.

Disappointed not to have finished, but rather live to ride another day.

I was wondering whether event went ahead ...

Was thinking this morning that it could've been Tonner weekend.

Now that would have been some ride.!

I never raced but was told by my buddy in the A bunch that they never put the rubber mats over the railway lines on Kromme Rhee road.

In the dry those tracks are dangerous enough as they are extremely high and the road/tar around the tracks is quite bad, I can't begin to imagine how nervy it must've been going over them in the rain and wind.

Sidenote: apparently that's where the eventual winner(still u18) attacked and rode to victory.

Hi guys

I see seedings were updated but there is a discrepancy with the winners time on PPA and racetec thus affecting everyone's seeding negatively.

When one checks seeding on PPA site, shows 2.21 vs actual winners time being 2.25.
