I finally took the plunge and bought an Elite Zumo last week.

I tried the Elite software that it comes with but that's just k@k.

Installed Rouvy this weekend and ran my first Augmented reality ride this morning. For me I think the Augmented reality type stuff is gonna be the win. I'm passionate about bike travel so why not pull those routes into my living room? There seems to only be 10 Augmented routes on Rouvy. does anyone know if the paid subscription opens more?

Also... Fan Needed.

There are currently 31 AR routes

I should probably try a few of these - been on Zwift for the Zwift Academy stuff, and before that a 12-week training plan, so something different might be nice.

Just a tip with Rouvy, if you have "slow" internet connection, rather download the routes you like and want, there are more routes with Videos, that were uploaded by other users, you can even upload your own  with the editor and use them later.

Ok Awesome!

Need to do some fiddling. I wanted to try out FullGaz but it's only in beta for Android at the moment. Any app I'm going to use will need to work on a Mygica media box. Rouvy seems to be just fine on there.

I think i'll run Rouvy till Fullgaz is released to android and give that a bash. My one mate is punting Zwift so hard you'd swear he gets comm on the deal. I get what he's trying to say but I already do my 3 spinning classes a week which I'm not looking to change and real riding is always going to trump virtual rides. This is just a supplement so the pricetag of Zwift feels a little steep for my particular needs.

At this point anyway.

Never underestimate structured training programs you can get from Training peaks and other coaches sometimes there is more value in that then the recreation rides, gets boring watching a graph but in the end it is worth it.

I hear you. But my goals are pretty simple.

1. Avoid a heart attack

2. not being the most sleg guy in my riding crew

3. having a fun road roll on Sundays with my better half.

I have been with Zwift for almost 3 years - with Wahoo Kickr snap. Battled for many moons before I finally got it right without excessive power drops. ANT+ would simply not do it, but with Bluetooth on the cell phone in parallel (using the Companion app) I can use the laptop screen and keyboard for better display. Last few months were almost flawless, but last few days it is all over again: power drops …

I have other issues with Zwift too, such as: when I climb a hill my heart rate goes up, breath starts pumping, legs feel the extra effort, by the power readings go down – at any cadence or positioning on the bike. And the other way around on down hills. Huh?

Zwift does not respond to the help line support@gozwift.zendesk.com  any more. The price had gone up by 50% from 10$ to 15$ per month. The more gadgets the more computer geeks join them. They are on a roll. Good for them as a business.

I am not into computer games. I am into cycling. Gadgets do not impress me. Simplicity and reliability does. For example: I mostly only ride Watopia Figure 8. As long as there are flats and hills that require different gearing/cadence/effort I will not get bored. But I do need a visible route, not a blind “work out” that specifies xxx watt for yyy minutes, repeat … etc

Please advise alternative software to replace Zwift on a Wahoo Kickr Snap

try Rouvy

Yiiip exactly the same for me, almost only been on Zwift the last 4 months! Since the sun is starting to come up earlier now I'm going to try this thing they call IRL..looks like it could be interesting, and apparently the graphics are insane UHD quality!

And this is why my little system stutters ....

I use an entry level Intel NUC PC.  PERFECT with Zwift.

I have tried most of the others, but simply have not found anything else that runs smoothly ....

May try to hack my laptop for the odd summer ride .... but really dont want to do this often or regularly ....

So I'm continuing with my virtual cycling journey.

Did a ride last night on Rouvy. I did the Col de Soller on Mallorca. I've done the ride in real life and the gradient felt pretty much spot on. It was mid winter when I was in Mallorca so it was nice to do a little sweating on the col rather than dying of cold.

I put my MTB on the trainer thinking that the bit of suspension movement would make life better when out of the saddle. It didn't. It TOTALLY sucked. The suspension movement when out of the saddle was excessive and horrible. The 1x gearing on my mtb is totally wrong for the trainer and the bars are too wide for my homemade sweat mat.

I am also using the MTB on the trainer and it's ***, like you say the gearing is completely off.

I was looking at other guys power numbers and wondering how the hell they were pushing those numbers...then realised it must be the MTB gearing :)

Solomons got some nice specials on entry level road bikes so going to add one to the stable.
