Soi want to get into the Enduro scene but first need a new steed.... What are you guys currently sitting on?

I currently ride a Giant Anthem.... Anything in the 30k -40k range would do.

How tall are you, Mo? Reason for asking is that a mate of mine is selling his Banshee Spitfire for a good price, and it's way under your budget. It's a medium, though, so bear that in mind.

Just out of interest sake, how long do these events take? I need to put time aside with the wife/kids, normally on a XC event I know what I'm in for, but Enduro? No clue.

That is entirely up to you AND relative to the course.

At contermans you could essentially blitz round the course in 3 hours, but at the Jonkers one you will need all day even if you 'blitz' the climbs.

It all depends how immersed you want to get in the 'Gees' of the event or there for the racing.

The Liaisons/Climbs are what takes the time and to be fair, a large majority of the guys winch slowly up and stop often. If you are fit and under time constraints you can generally start and finish in half the time it takes the 'real' #enduro boys!

I was nursing a hangover and did the Contermans EWC in in 4 hours total time on the bike. My Garmin had the distance at 25km and the elevation gain at 1150m.

Cool, already got the pink slip for the Hoogekraal event, Jonkers is a bit too close to W2W.

I will be the noob with my flannel check shirt, I heard they are quite the fashion item for #EnduroBro

^^this.

I took just over 4 hours, total time, and that included a fair bit of waiting for my turn to drop in. Top guys were released an hour or so after the first batch (the batch I was in) and finished before me.

Im 1.85m so will be looking at a large/xlarge . I will be keeping the Anthem but also dont want a steed thats gonna be a #schlep to get up the hills.

Well done guys. So sorry i missed this one but Ive been coughing up snot for 10 days or so and off the bike for two weeks so I decided to carry on resting. Such a pity, my fitness was probably better than its been for a couple of years.

As it was my first, I did it on my XCO Silverback Sesta (dual suspension) no dropper post & was able to finish in a decent position on the day.

Does that mean it was a buttery smooth Epiceque kind of stages since a dropper wasn't needed?

Would you say you could have had more fun on a Trail bike? After your first would you like to get a longer travel bike with dropper?

It's gonna be the new "I did the Argus on my mtb with knoblies" thing for #enduro.
