Movistar tactics out of this world...

Nice to see Quintana racing still. Served up the goods for him as he sits nicely in 2nd place.

So stoked for James Knox. Into the top 10 at 8 and a chance to chase down Majka in 7th in the mountains tomorrow.

Pretty sure he wouldn't have had the support DQS have given him to move him up in the last few stages at Sky. The Wolfpack look after their own. He's been keeping an audio diary for The Cycling Podcast and can't wait to hear all about today.

can't wait to see highlights (if any) later.

Tomorrow... more mountains - Cat1x4!!!. I wonder if there was any toll on Nairoman today, and can he keep his position tomorrow? I think/hope Pog kept his powder dry today and will be looking for some big shots in the coming days. Friday seems flat, so it's tomorrow and Saturday.

'It's going to be interesting' seems such an understatement

With a reported average speed of 50.63 kmph, Philippe Gilbert smashes the record for a race over 200km to take the Ruban Jaune from Matteo Trentin.

The first time in its 80+ history that the record was set in a stage race

Realises a day late that he still has a Eurosport subscription and didn't have to wait for useless DSTV to kick in.  :cursing:

Reckon Astana will go at Movistar early today and I'm not waiting around to guess what's going on.

so what, I hit 50km downhill regularly.  Seriously though, 50km for 200m is tough enough
