[Event] Carnival City Macsteel National Classic Road Race

So I entered - better late than never - Cycleevents still said entries close TONIGHT 23:00.

I have not ridden much - if any - in the last 3 months and this year has really been dismal for training with injuries and illness putting almost a complete stop to cycling.

so decided last week to give it another try when I entered the Gauteng Olympic Cycling World Championships (94.7 or whatever its commonly called) and now one of my other favourite suffer sessions - CCMNC (last year suffered all 110km after having stomach bug the day before and just making the B batch start - won a night at Carnival City in the lucky draw for the effort - which made it a much better day)

I am looking forward to this event although it will probably just be another 110km of suffering training ride.

A little nervous for this one, entered the 60km MTB race, first time doing a race, think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this one

Have you done other races of a similar distance?

Planned on doing this and was going to enter yesterday but was just reminded by my wife yesterday that it is Diwali on Sunday so have to give it a miss

Thanks, but I am going to go for the 60, cant get better if you dont try...

You should be fine, the trails are flat and fast with no technical sections.

That's the spirit. There will be a few guys riding backup (support), so they'll be able to offer moral support (physical, or outside assistance) is not allowed, according to the rules).

See you there big guy?

Nah, not doing it. I ride the trails regularly enough for free using my own water and supplements. Not sure if Carnival charge for hosting it but race cant cost much, except for having metro on hand for the road cross over from Carnival to Dalpark, timing (I can time myself), medals (don't need, don't want) throw in a couple of WP's with coke, energade or water, the trails are all open and can be ridden anytime.
