How far did you ride in 24 hours?

What are the sizes of the file in the various formats, eg FIT / GPX etc?

(What was the recording interval?  Failing all else you can perhaps try to 'filter' the track a bit, it should not make (much of) a material difference if you are not to aggressive on the filtering.  Otherwise, and perhaps not ideal, you can also split it.)

Smart recording. Splited the file and tried uploading via strava gotoes.

Still didn't work. Now I loaded the tcx directly as it's under the 25mb and strava says duplicate activity.

Oh I'm giving up.

Thankfully I recorded a back up and used the actually garmin files to verify the ride.

I'm going to have to find a way around this.

Strava should just let us upload files no matter the size

Not much help here but it is possible your ride corrupted, have seen many rides longer than 24 hours uploaded to Strava without any "size" issues,  Were you able to upload it to Garmin Connect?

I have seen rides more than 24h on Strava and one 800km+ ride on Intervals.icu that came from Strava. I had to increase my "download from Strava" timeout to 20s to get that one! So Surely there is some way to upload it.

Its a duplicate cos your big file is pending in their system. You need to change the timestamp on your new file. One minute should do to fool strava. Several of us had issues after PBP my fit file of only 8mb got rejeted I ended up cutting it in two.

Here's a link to several solutions https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=113129.0 solutions on page two and three i am Hofnar the site I mention can change the timestamp(used it to creat a day two) More fancy option is to downsample.

It al depends if these people where on 1 3 or 5 s intervals and the amount of tech(HR Power cadence) they had connected.
