Road rage

Look, let’s face some hard facts here.

Anybody who is willing to use their bike as a hammer (TM Pure Savage) and uses it to smash a car doesn’t care about their bicycle and therefore likely rides a Giant.

But on a positive note, we can rule out all the eBikers! No ways an eBike rider could pick up their motorbike and strike a car like that multiple times, unless they have biceps like some of the guys in VA.

Another cup of coffee ruined!!

Are we sure it was a road rider? I have seen MTB riders carrying their bikes at whine to Wales every year!!

So what? My point was in relation to a specific comment. Themuns, theotheruns and usuns is irrelevant. Every ******* driver in the world driving like a **** does not change the fact that sometimes cyclists cause danger to car drivers, no matter how carefully they drive.

Cyclist riding like a chop can cause cars to take sudden evasive action, which can result in others getting killed. It is not a difficult concept to grasp that we are all responsible for our behaviour, is it?

Nearly every time you post it's just a massive explosion of anger and entitlement. If your profile didn't say you're in Ireland, I'd suspect you of bashing in the car of this topic.

I hope I never come across you on the road because you sound like the type of person that will kill a cyclist before driving responsively, defensively yourself.

So have we found out who the cyclist perp is?

starting to look like another GavinWatson incident: suspicious, but no footage.

Prime space for flamehards in this thread to trigger each other, and boy are they raging away.

This is the one you need to read.

NATIONAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 93 OF 1996

and then the bits that the Western Cape Government added about three years ago called bylaws but they are very much law.

How many of you have ACTUALLY read the ACT - just the bit concerning bicycles ?????

So who is the afr. box cyclist and how much damage did he do to his bike ?

I have read it, but not sure what point you are making here......

Really asking not trolling.

Nah the driver has insurance and should claim and move on.

The OP also hasn't been back yet since Saturday to get feedback or give feedback....

Which seems odd...

Ha - my bike is too old to be bashing cars with.

Entitlement? How does that work? Because I don’t toe your line on all cyclists being saints and all car drivers at fault?

Thought for the day... If we extrapolate the intolerance, anger, self righteousness and outrage shown right here on this thread to real life is it really surprising that we have road rage in SA?

South Africans are generally angry people, its not really our fault either, there is a lot to be angry about in this country.

Re angry people. John Maythem said he witnessed 2 70 year old white ladies in their Yaris's hooting at each other and blocking the road as one was talking to the big issue vendor. No body has any chill left in Cape Town.

Having just spent 2 weeks in SA after having been away for a little over 3 months.

You can immediately sense the tension, anger and self preservation mode on the roads.

It is something that is easily forgotten once you haven’t been there for a while and it’s all too easy to sit and judge from afar.

Not really trying to make a point but wanting to know how many have read the Act.

Too many assumptions and statements regarding the laws being made and by people who have never read the Act.

I feel that everyone that rides a bicycle regularly should at least read the sections of the Act regarding cycling. I think I could safely say that 95% of regular cyclists have not read it.

(For example there is no law that states that you have to ride on the left "edge" of the road or lane nor is there a law that states a cyclist should ride to the left of a yellow line to the contrary. But the law does say cyclist has to use the cycle lane/path (western cape) when there is one (just bad) which we dispute )
