How would load shedding have an impact this weekend if there is no electricity at Oak Valley.  You are going to have load shedding the whole weekend...….

Want ek wil een of ander tyd die naweek 'n burger bestel, en dit kan heel moontlik elektrisiteit benodig. En neem aan hulle sal 'n generator hê vir timing equipment.

Kom nou Greasy, wil jy regtig 'n burger he wat met elektrisiteit gaar gemaak was?  Braai jy nie jou burger patties op kole nie?

Coffee vendor cannot make coffee (some of us unfortunately don't have camping kit for coffee etc)

Ok, maybe I should rephrase my post.  If there is no electricity at Oak Valley, no power lines at the sport field where the event is, then it does not matter if there is load shedding or not, the organizers will have to have generators anyway.  I left out that last bit on purpose because how else would I have gotten a reaction on my post?

I might be wrong, it happens some time, about there not being access to electricity at the sport field but with all the events I have been to at Oak Valley they where always using generators.  I just assume that there is no access to a power outlet there.

Anyway, if someone wants coffee, there will probably be about a gazillion bialetti's at our camping spot with a few milk frothers ready for action.  Pop in for a cappuccino in exchange for doing one lap with my tag.

My butt regrets the fact that I said this!

(Well, my butt, my feet, my wrists, my chicken wings, my knees, my hands, my lower back ... )

Seriously unbelievable effort, well done!

Think I did 8 laps during the time you did your first 17 or so..

What an incredible weekend of 24hr racing, we absolutely loved it.

To Meurant and his team, well done guys on another superb events. It's probably been 15 yrs (if not more) since I took a team to a 24hr event and we had forgotten just how awesome the vibe is. The only glitch was the effect the load shedding had on the timing but we felt they handed it very well under the circumstances.

We entered an 8 man team in the Fun Class and we had a total jol and even walked away with a very unexpected 2nd place in category after a lekka dice all night with the Paarl Roos Gym parents team, proving that #itsalwaysarace even after a good braai and a couple of glasses of red wine

We had a couple of 24hr noobies in the team and now they're totally hooked. Do we really have to wait 2 years till the next one? ^_^
