Messaged this guy to see what his scam tactic is. Says he is busy and has no transport so I must collect this afternoon at an address in Crossroads. Said I will send an Uber to collect which he seemed fine with... so not sure where it's going.

He will probably ask that you do an eft before sending the Uber. Poor Uber driver is going to sit in the bush in his jocks no car and no phone.

Not funny though, one of our club members drives for uber and was hijacked thrice already

I'll prepare a fake POP, not send an Uber and see where this goes.

I have also messaged a scammer on facebook, the one selling the scott spark in a previous post on this forum.

I ended up talking to him on messenger and said I am on my way to collect. Long story short after a while he said that I am wasting his time and that "we are leaving".

Think with a lot of these FB adds, the image has been copied from somewhere and the actual goods/item doesn't even exist?

This...

The proven MO. Most often if you do a google lense or image origin search you will find it's been lifted from a legit advert somewhere

BUT, the main thing is to remember that If it looks to good to be true, it usually is. Just leave it alone

If they are running this scam to get guys out in dodgey areas to rob them. If there are so many of these scams being repeated there are definitely a few of them working/paying off.

Comes back to what I said in the "where do high end bikes go" -It shows that people(probably even on the hub) are entertaining deals that are too good to be true and are definitely buying stolen bikes and parts left right and center...

If you are willing to drive into a place like Crossroads or some other obviously dodge place in the hope of scoring a too good to be true deal….then you are either the most gullible fool in SA or you probably deserve whatever is waiting in the bushes.
My kid’s nanny lives in Crossroads. We bought her and her family a new fridge last year and Tafelberg flatout refused to go deliver it there even though we paid for delivery. They eventually subbed it out to some private guy, who organised a police escort from their local station🤣

Ad looks dodge , perhaps anyone's bike

Also selling a "navigator"

Previously advertised on his profile a sworks with power meter

I could be wrong but putting it out there

This S-works looks like the one they stole off the back of a Mercedes SUV on video a while back.

This suspicious Focus Izalco ad came up on my FB Marketplace suggestions.

Looks pretty suspect. If it's yours there may be a chance to get it back.
