What's new on the 2020 UCI MTB World Cup calendar?

The first race for the downhillers is at a new venue, with Lousã in Portugal hosting. Lousã is routinely used by the downhill teams and suspension firms for testing and will be a popular choice of venue among many of the riders and teams. Maribor also retains its spot from 2019, while Croatia's Lošinj returns to the calendar for the downhillers following its absence in 2019.

I recon the 2020 DH series is going to be ripper of note!

Currently, the only thing hotter than a 9-race season is the team changes. Seems like many contracts expired at the same time.

FMD transitioned to canyon

Jack Moir off intense

Unno pulled it's world cup team

etc..

Ya, so looking forward to the season. Getting sick of product news and team rumours. Just want some racing!

EWS should also be very good in 2020 - will Hill be able to keep the others at bay? Will Graves make a come back - at the moment he does not have a team. Will Courdurier be back on top after breaking her neck last year?

So many questions... :-)

Moir finished 42nd overall last year ... do you think his "boss" who finished 27th had anything to do with him leaving?

It will be interesting to see how the ladies pan out this year .... especially the hype around Vali!

Yes. For me the ladies is where the excitement is going to be.

Will Vali fulfill her potential?

Will Seagrave consistently challenge Atherton?

Will Nina come good with help from the syndicate?

Or will Rachel just up the pace a notch again and blitz everyone?

I just dig Nina's all out flat out way of riding, and love Vali's ultra smooth riding style (Same as Mr Minn and Brruuuunnniii)

I think Rach is going to starch everyone again how ever I also think more ladies will be on her heels and the gaps will be much smaller

Vali will probably be just behind these ladies

Chances of Vali winning a race this year is less than 1% imo

Nina is riding Juliana: they don't have a team as it were, so will she be training and setting up under Syndicate? that one needs full factory support to realize her potential: those ladies ahead of her are animals, not to mention the piranha that will be Vali.  <-- very keen to see how she handles having to match pace to even sniff the podium seeing that pompon, Tahnee, Hannah are going to becoming out full gas from the get-go.

Dunno about rachel though: that calf muscle looks like it needs more red meat in it's diet.

that's my hope as well, but I think she might start slow, given recovery from injury and the fact that she's lost a lot of development time on the new bike. But if she podiums off the bat, then it's likely she could end up stealing everyone's lunch come end of season.
