I always buy used and not abused, new is just too expensive.

2018 (earlier than this was just too far back but there were quite a few):

GIANT Trance (4 months)
PYGA Pascoe (8 months)

Last year I owned the following:

Trek Remedy 7 (6 months)
Commencal META AM V4 (2 months)
PYGA Pascoe (5 months)

And now a COTIC Rocket that I built up using my Pascoe's parts as it was all mostly new.

I have owned various hardtails at the same time too but currently just have my Rocket and my GT Chucker.

I use to have some extra money and would buy for a good price and sell at around the same price sometimes you lose some and sometimes you even win some. I didn't really mind I just liked riding and working on different bikes that is all.

Out of all my bikes I have ridden the Rocket the most but owned it for the shortest time. Maybe not ridden it the most but riding it very frequently, like almost everyday.

My one bike is 7 years old and other one is 2 weeks old. Probably won’t buy another.

Oh if my wife had a dollar for every time I told her that!

Soma steel hardtail 2014, Morewood Zula 2013, Bakkie 2006.

The Zula is pretty much retired. The Soma needs the drive train modernised, still running XT 3x10. But it works!

Hahaha! If I buy another I probably won’t have a wife anymore.

Which one? I have 3. Oldest is a steel Tommasini, probably like 20+ years old, that I use when taking the kids for a ride and I hook the trailers behind it.

My 26" GT is about 10 years old.

My 29er Merida is 8 years old.

I don't really ride MTB so can't justify a new one(and can't afford a new bike right now anyway). The GT and Merida have seen like 90% road, 10% dirt in their lives and the Tommasini has only ever been on the road.

My Camber - 4 years (and other than planned respray later this year no interest in changing)

Wife's Epic - 4 years (and very low mileage, good for a few more years)

My Reacto - 1 yo and good for a few years

My car - 3.25 years (will change next year due to very high mileage)

Wife's car - 14 years (good for at least another year or two)

I am planning on adding a Shiv towards the end of the year though

I only really started cycling in 2016 on a Merida Hardtail (Big.Nine of some description).

Early 2017 I upgrade to my current Scott Spark (so that one is about 3 years old).

Mid 2017 I traded in my Merida for a Silverback Space (road bike, which now lives on my indoor trainer).

Mid 2018 after I got really into road cycling I bought a really nice Canyon Ultimate (Di2, disk brakes, the works)

Did my first enduro in August last year and loved it so I bought my Canyon Strive.

So to summarise:

  • Indoor Trainer Bike: 2.5 - 3 years old
  • Road Bike: 1.5 - 2 years old
  • XC/Marathon Bike: 3 years old
  • Enduro Bike: 5 months old

No plans to upgrade or get new bikes any time soon (although the temptation is there to get a TT/triathlon bike)

Still competitive on a 8 year old Cannondale Flash hardtail fitted with a 12 year old Lefty.

Love the bike, not about to replace it soon.

26" or 29"?
