bikemonster: This is my training bike... I might sell the Trek but I'll always keep this one Wink

<Pic deleted 'cause we've already seen it>

Now that is IGZACKLY what I am talking about.

For the record, my own bike trajectory over the last 10 years has been as follows:

Steel Lejeune six speed with downtube shifters.  Family hand-me-down, of which I was the 5th pilot.  Not a bad intro to recreational cycling.

Trek 470.  Aluminium frame, cro moly fork, Shimano RSX 7 Speed STI.  A big step up from the Lejeune, and excellent for rattling fillings loose on any surface rougher than glass.

Raleigh RC6000.  Alu frame, carbon fork, Shimano 105 9 speed.  Huge step up, and great bang-for-the-buck bike.  WH-R540 wheels replaced with K-SL's as gear lust began to bite.  Prolly as good a bike as I truly need, but that did not stop me getting...

Scott CR1, carbon everything.  Bought with 105 10 speed and K-Equipes, but ditched those for the SL's that I already had.  After a few months, dumped the 105 for Campag Record, and translated my K-SL's to Italian.  Way more bike than I need, but I love it to bits and it's a great incentive to train hard.  Chosen because it looks the mutt's nuts (I really like the Scott wide weave carbon), it's light, reviews were all glowing and best of all, by buying in the winter I got a great deal.

Other bikes I considered were the Giant TCR in carbon and the Orbea Orca.  The Giant dropped out of the running because I just don't find Giant road bikes exciting.  The Orbea fell out of the running because I am not crazy about lugged carbon, although it is a great looking bike, and by all accounts a terrific ride.  If not for the great deal that I got on the Scott I may well have ended up on an Orbea.

Does this count as an aero frame?

No! The Cervelo Soloist maybe qualifies' date=' but in general no road bikes could be classed as aero.  Chris Boardman's Lotus bike was aero.

Very True Linnega, all the extra material used to make a frame aero (teardrop shape) is extra weight for very little benifet -  unless of course you start building bikes like this, but then its so ugly who wants it...
