Has anyone here used a shim for Carbon bars?

Currently have a set of bars with a narrow diameter and have seen you can get a shim to increase it to a 31.8mm diameter (which is what I need for my new stem).

To be fair tho, used bars are so plentiful and cheap, youll probably be able to just pick some appropriate ones up for free... Check the classifieds, I'm sure you can also go wider and enjoy more stability too... A shim just sounds like an unnecessary risk, to be honest.

Yes I have. But had to make my own

Look the handlebar is an arguably a more important than the seatpost as having failing steering will likely end with you in the hospital.

A failed seatpost or sliding down seatpost could maybe make you crash but will likely just be frustrating.

I would get the right stem or bar, but that's just my opinion

After some thought this weekend I'm going to get a new set of bars to go with the stem.

Don't want that little bit of niggle while turning into a high speed corner.

Great idea, the thread title gave me a shiver.
