I was looking out a new bikes and spec for price the Pyga won out, until today when the prices shot up, now it’s R4 less than the AM Team.

To the less experienced me, the Meta looks to be the better option spec wise, bike shop being 10km vs 60km from my house also helps.

Going to demo a Meta later, see how it feels, but any insight would be great.

TIA.

Which model Meta are you looking at?

I ride a Slakine. Havent ridden 'n Meta yet so cannot compare. But super happy with my Slakline.

One of my biggest reasons was local support for whicg the Pyga guys are tops. Again dont know about the local Commencal support, sustainability etc.

Not exactly the same choice but my friend had the Meta AM and Hyrax for weekend.

He went with the Meta as he decided he wants an enduro rig so with the suspension travel difference ot wasn’t really a fair fight.

I’m a big fan of Pyga but that Commencal sure is a tasty machine as well. Tough one.

Ya same for me

I have the Meta AM HT and the gap between it and my previous dual suspension was minimal so the Meta AM was fitting replacement... and upgrades

I've had the frame for a few months, life has meant my bikes funds are depleted... Hopefully before the end of 2020 I'll have it built up

Yep!

Waiting to get all my parts to finish mine.

Niko has been amazing in getting me a size and colour that was not available in the country.

I'm biased, but never been a pyga fan

But but but local? Yawn

Unfortunately in my XC days bad experiences with the then guys to look up to had put me off the brand...

Local if affordable sure... Ask Lyne Components I'm a big advocate

OP

Spill the beans!

Nico was extremely helpful with this and that was also partially a deciding factor, I emails Pyga a few weeks back and got a quick response to that, but my 2 subsequent replies to that mail have gone unanswered.

Nico on the other hand replied to my first message after 9pm the evening and all follow ups where really quick.

Personally, I never want to struggle or have to chase people to give them money, and 80 grand is not pocket change, my last email to pyga was “I want to buy the bike, what is the lead time and process”.

First ride will be tomorrow, this morning I’ll just hit the mini trail down the road to tune all the bits.
