Hi All,

I have a shock that is not rebounding: it compresses but rebounds very very slowly (rebound adjuster makes little difference).

It was serviced (200 hr) a couple months ago.

Took the air out and put it back in in 50 psi steps to see if that helped...it didn’t.

Any ideas??

If this is a Rockshox fork you can carefully stick a very thin cable tie down the dust wiper (top seal on the fork leg) while pulling up on the fork to release the pressure and bring things back to full travel.

Cool, thanks for the input.

Yes, this happened about 8 hours after the 200 service.

I’ll take it back and see what’s up ????

Just means a bit of down time as so many shops send the shock/fork away for more in-depth jobs.

Any suspension specialists in KZN to go direct??

Maybe the transition port from positive to negative air chambers is blocked with grease after the service? Shop may have put to much grease in, I know that happens on the Rockshox Monarch shocks, could be the same thing here?

Does it extend to full length, but just really slowly? If it is, your rebound metering rod is jammed in full closed and it'll need to be stripped again. RBC is the only place that can do this for you, nobody else has the tools.

Stuck down means it won't extend at all.

Also, DR - zip ties down the wipers won't release a stuck down fork, the pressure you need to release is inside the negative air spring not the lowers.
