In the days of quill stems, I heard many guys call them goose necks.

 

Oh, and it's a saddle, not a seat.

But the why is it called a seatpost? Lol

Also, fun fact - it’s apparently also only a quill stem if it has the 45* sliding bolt bit at the bottom vs some that use an expander with slots. Quill came from the bottom bit’s resemblance to quill pens.

The correct spelling is Aurgust.

Gauranteed that the user of that word has never picked up a copy of the Cape Argus. Or probably any English newspaper.

Cockpit - not sure what it's meant to describe?

Apparently the following:

 

"The cockpit components are the bits that bring the groupset, frame and wheels together to form a bike. These components are easy to change to fine tune your comfort or bring some extra bling to your ride."

 

Or is it just the cut-out on some saddles.? :D
