There are the common ones like...

  • breaks vs brakes
  • front shocks (or sometimes just "shocks") vs fork
  • soft tail vs dual suspension (2 different things)
  • peddle vs pedal

Then there are the finer details like...

  • Sram vs SRAM (SRAM is an acronym for Scott, Ray and Sam. The brand's founders)

We aren't all perfect and 100% clued up on what things are called on a bike or part of the gear you use. Sometimes though some funny things do sneak in.

Share them.

I'll start with

This is a Helmut

This is a Helmet

Only one of the two will save your head in a crash.

I second that.

My lovely Fox dropframe, which started off as per the image in your post, looked like this after my crash. My old university buddy Helmut, currently residing 15000 km away in Europe, did absolutely nothing to help. :)

What irks me are people who get their bike names wrong. Surely you know what you ride, the name is there, on the frame in big bold letters.

Fuji is a Fuji, not a Fiji or a Fugie.

Its also fun hearing how ‘Schwalbe’ gets massacred haha. But thats their fault...to many letters in there. I’ve heard an Ausie refer to them as ‘Swabels’
