Well what other options were they in Munich? I am sure they wanted it integrated with the other events facilities (like the Tri start/finish area)  They did throw in a token rock garden, but perhaps they should have got our Olympic track builder out there?

This was part of the problem. The mandate was for the course to be in the same sports centre as the other events

Suppose we could well chuck a penny for a few ideas. But there were a few options in the small wooded area at least, along with a few rollers and at least creating an actual path/flow features through all the grass.

Maybe there were sever constraints like budget etc. Stand by the fact that the course was underwhelming for a Euro Champs field.

Nick could well have put something significantly better in place I reckon. The mans an innovative and proactive talent.

Understandable, we’ve seen the same within other events like London.

Crankworx always been out there on the fringe of mountain biking - hoping Red Bull will stick with it, its been 10 great years. I find slopestyle totally nuts to watch, plus all the supporting events like Speed & Style  etc.  I just keep being amazed how the sport can progress.

I think the commentary was excellent - Cam McCaul is an ex competitor, as are the other guys who pop in. Needles tends to repeat himself but he generally limited to downhilll. There's been other leads but Cam seems to be the guy now, I don't have any issues and in fact think he is really good, professional and entertaining as well.

XCO - UCI will still be around to make sure its done according to the rules but the event organising will be taken over by Discovery Inc as far as I can gather .... 'to commercialise the sport' which I must say I have reservations about. Did Red Bull do the Event Organising up to now? Where they not just the media partners and UCI ran the show? If so I guess UCI are happy to hand it over and focus on their core functions.

Red Bull should really be thanked for stepping in once Freecaster folded, it has really advanced XC and Downhill , having free coverage.

YES - very grateful for the role RedBull tv played in the ICU MTB over the last few years.

Crankworx .... thanks, will have another look at it.  Maybe just fast forward past the pre-race stuff, and watch the actual racing.

I believe the massive viewership in both DH and XCO we are currently seeing is directly related to how Red Bull TV Stepped in.
Sure they used it as a marketing tool, but damned they sure as hell gave us a hell of a lot of exceptional content for "free"

Mathias Fluckiger returns doping positive.  Immediately removed from the Swiss team at European champs and asked to leave the team hotel... WTF? True or False

If he is in the wrong (surely look like it), I have no issue with this.  Deeds like this MUST have consequences, simple as that !

True. However I’m not sure he was at the European champs as he would have been informed of the positive before it was made Public

For the team relay, each nation may enter only a single team. Each national team shall be made up of 1 Men Elite, 1 Women Elite, 1 Men under 23, 1 Men Juniors, 1 Women under 23 and 1 Women Juniors. However, the following substitutions shall be permissible: • Men Elite by Women Elite or Men under 23 or Men Juniors or Women under 23 or Women Juniors; • Women Elite by Women under 23 or by Women Juniors; • Men under 23 by Women Elite or Women under 23 or Men Juniors or Women Juniors; • Men Juniors by Women Juniors. Each rider selected must already be entered for the individual downhill or Olympic crosscountry events. The team composition must be returned by email (t.nuninger@gmail.com) by Tuesday August 23rd 2022 at 19h30 at the latest.

I could mail a friend and ask but I will only get an answer after 20h00....

by which time is will likely be posted already

We rarely see someone go off from the front and make it stick in XCC!

Well done Alan & Team Cannondale

Guess AH will be the lead rider in the new season and HA will be the "second" rider?
