Solid post Shebs… 🤌🫡

One or two FB ‘personalities’ that could take a few pages from your book.

oh do tell more!

Forgot to mention how the weekend came 50cm from disaster just after midnight. woke up a bokkie near guana caves. He crossed the road with enough to spare in front of me, but then decided he didn't actually want to be that side of the road, so came back. Instant skidding and he darted back off into the bush without a hello. Just glad Albert behind me was awake too.

Anybody received comms about a refund, partial refund, entry into ATP24 yet?

The website provides a percentage breakdown for refunds if the event is cancelled. Unfortunately, if the event was cancelled in the month it was to take place, which it did, there is no refund.

I’m sure they will make good on those that missed out one way or another

What are you basing this on? An inside source, or a gut feel?

I mean, they spent all the money you paid them. I'm not sure where they're expected to get funds to reimburse everyone? If they're feeling really generous, maybe they'll offer discounted 2024 entries, but even then I'd be surprised.

Remember, CTCT didn't give anyone anything that time they cancelled on the day due to winds. Not sure why a smaller race like ATP should be held to a different standard.

I agree , it sucks but it is what it is. No event can afford to give discounts or roll over entries if basically 100% of the operating cost was already paid.

Let’s wait and see, at no stage was a demand made or any expectation raised though.

I spoke to organisers on saturday evening - paraphrasing and take this all as hearsay.

Obviously very disappointed but was kind of satisfied that they took the correct decision under the circumstances.

Expects that entries could be under pressure next year, after building a good and growing brand from scratch. Looking at offering some sort of discount for riders next year, but will need to work for all parties. Also looking at getting goodie bags to CT and George for those who want to do a local pickup (totally worth it).

Got amazing partners who support the race, they are all in and wanting to come back stronger.

I will do my best to attend in 2024.

Can't wait that long? they have taken the pain out of putting routes together for your biketouring holiday - if you're into this sort of thing then this is a whole lot of fun

Also DC that rained out 2 years ago only offered preferential entries the next year.
