Indievelo (now Training Peaks) was amazing when it was free

By the way, they're doing something called Free 4 All Tuesday:

Quote

*Free 4 All Tuesday starts at 3AM UTC Tuesday and ends at 5AM UTC Wednesday, so athletes can participate from any time zone.

Ai Chris 😪 - sadly my hardware is also no longer up to scratch since the upgrade to V5

I now use BikeTerra, also free, not near the quality and functionality that the other fancy ones have but works for me!

I don't use it for the scenery or to 'race' anyone anyway, just a distraction to get through indoor rides on the odd occasion I feel like I need to due to the weather etc.

Scored a luck, my son organised me an upgraded desktop and a way better graphics card and now I'm back 'Whooshing' 😎

As an aside he uses a smart trainer with Zwift and he has put together this 'gear shift' in app button solution using a Raspberry Pi

Works pretty cool I must say!

Finally got my whoosh to work. Laptop kept asking for a couple of .dll files so I tried on the iPad and it is running. Did a ramp test on it last night to get things going. And I promptly had both dogs checking up on me as I death rattled my way up the last couple of steps.

Is the source code available somewhere @NotSoBigBen?
I use the onscreen (cellphone) 'buttons' and when you chucked your glasses, are out of breath, and trying to touch a square centimeter with a quivering finger... It rarely happens as planned

I check with him in the morning ... I do know he is now also using MyWhoosh

When lockdown happened I was mega into Zwift. Doing training programs like a madman. Then for the last 3 years I honestly couldn't even comprehend getting on an indoor trainer. Then the Mali arrived and it got even worse. Cycling pretty much disappeared from the exercise regime.

My wife and I are going to Spain at the end of this month to do some holidaying and a bit of riding so we're currently on a Mywoosh training program to mostly try and get our backsides used to saddles again.

I must say Mywoosh is pretty damned good. Like really really good! We only do the workouts. No freeriding. We both do the workouts on my bike so no need to change bikes. I've set up a TV in the garage and we just take my laptop in there and off we go. I've downloaded a bunch of motocross and mtb stuff so that keeps me sane.

I'm using MyWhoosh for freeriding only.  My structured training happens on TrainingPeaks Virtual.

I agree, MyWhoosh looks really good / polished. Not overtly game-like like Zwift's TRON-like appearance. TrainingPeaks Virtual is getting there after the last update, but some spit and polish is still required.

I did some 'oogling and it seems that a computer from which it (MyWhoosh/Zwift) runs is required. What I saw is that the buttons basically just send a keypress.

I'd love for some kind of backend / API access as I'm running these apps from a cell phone and a bigger monitor. Option would be to plug  a keyboard into an iPhone and hope for it to work 🙃 😁

Getting crashes on old laptop (dell 840 with 8GB RAM), but works really well on my iphone 11, so I just use the phone and keep it on the charger if doing a ride longer than 1hr.
