In all the many years I have ridden in that 'Heineken' area it's the very first time that I have seen water 'flowing' down that little stream ...

We noticed it on our last MTB ride, the one where Pikey asked where the blue shed was.

It must have been from that monsoon season we had last month; lots a standing water, and perhaps a high water table.

I know where it , the dip off the pathway running parallel to the brewery.
We passed that dip on our way to Walkerville, via Sun Valley road.

When I mentioned "when Pikey asked where the blue shed was"; I was referring to our last ride (weeks ago).

Yet another day of long miles in the car ..... granted, leaving home with the wipers going steadily I was wondering if THIS was the morning Dale might give it a skip ......

Between Bettysbay and Rooi Els a gent was riding on the wet tar, and was wondering if managed to miss the rain.

Coming back two touring bikes were cruising along Clarence Drive ..... by now it was PERFECT cycling weather ..... with me heading back to the office.

Just Zwift for me this week .....

4 days in a row for me in France, riding slowly up Mt Ventoux

Forecast for the weekend is cold, wet and windy; will be like riding in the Cape, without the view, bru.

Rain started at about 18:00 last night and probably stopped sometime before I woke up. Roads were dry, but the wind… well, it was definitely there.

Easy going out, but a little harder coming back. Still beats time for on the trainer.

Getting there 👍

Long sleeve thermal layer + cycling top + thick warm cycling jacket (proper winter top).  For colder starts a gillet will add more flexibility as the day heats up.

Gloves worked very well.  Took it off in Stellenbosch .... stopped a few blocks later and put it back on.

I was hearing you along Bottelary .... cold knees was unnessacery .....  also could have used a buff for that first hour.

Think I have my kit sorted for Augrabies .... with my luck they will have hot berg.winds ....😋
