Near perfect day weather wise.  Bit on the hot side but otherwise not much wind.  No rain.
Sub 3 Stats:

And then the smaller "Elite" group of batches that delivered the Times 2:30

very chuffed that I'm part of the sub 3 crowd for once.

Very lekker day out yesterday.  18th medal in the bag.  Always have to remind myself to take a chill-pill on the highway out to Woodmead.  Pays dividends in the second half.  I ride a 40 year old bike with downtube shifters - I lost count of the number of superbikes I passed (and I was gong real slow!)......Sometimes I get the idea that people think if they drop huge cash on equipment they'll have a good ride......anyway - well done to the organisers, marshalls, traffic officials and the Joburg motorists for giving us a real special day. Awesome!  (PS - if the organisers read this please create a category for vintage bikes - there are quite a few of them still on the roads today 🙂 )

Saw a bike with downtube shifters and skinny as heck tyres come through our spectator point in Fourways. Well done if that was you you had decent pace. I used to ride one to school in the late 70s.....😄

I helped a Tandem that was really struggling before Kyalami, stopped to take some pictures along the way, helped another man that was cramping after kyalami, then pushed him back to the medic and then enjoyed a beer at around 70km, helped another guy with a mechanical but sadly I could not fix his derailer that was completely stuffed.

Saw a guy whose rd clutch looked like it had left the building and lots of slack on lower chain, was that him?

My aim as well, when can you ride your bike on the streets of Jozi with no cars, let's hope there is some bear and tequila on offer.

I do rather think that BEAR and TEQUILA are n-o-t a good ‘mix’, unless wild ‘wrestling’ is your ‘thing’; D-O let us all know how the Bear & Tequila thing went….?

Maybe I'm doing it wrong I can't see totals. Racetec was way friendlier....

the totals (entered) is at the top left:
9562 men
2404 women

But then you have to scroll down to the bottom to see those without a time.
I see people on the list without a time, and I know they finished (Strava says so 🤔).

Can you see totals for starters and finishers? (Starters will always be less than entries)

Split by distance, gender and grouped by hour
The 4 showing in the 0-Km distance were test timing chips.

Awesome thanks Frosty. Only 2 DNF? I saw about 8 bikes on sweep vehicles and that was at the 60km mark before the climbs started and lots of tailenders started pushing. Even saw a guy (pushing) a full TT bike which I thought was a no no.....

Wonder what the reasons for DQ were....😃
