Recently ordered x2 cycling tops, a bib, and some cycling baggies.

Β

Painless experience, once again. The bib is really good quality material. Unfortunately, the fit is wrong in the sense that the chamois bulges in the front and does not look good at all. It is a men's bib, and I am not a man, but I've used men's bibs in the past and never had that problem. However, it still works for indoor rides and I just wear a pair of shorts over them.

Β

The baggies are a little big, but very comfortable with ample pockets for snacks.

Β

The cycling tops are good quality, and the sizing as per the website was accurate.

Has anyone ordered a dropper post from Temu?

I'm not ready to sink R5k on one locally, and Temu has a couple around the R1300 mark.Β

I saw someone else started a thread about droppers, and one person commented "You get what you pay for", which I understand.

But as a casual rider, I accept that I might spend R1k on something that only lasts a year or three. Or maybe, due my casual-ness, it lasts me five!

To be fair, the original droppers we used that had a pin and spring system, zero lubrication etc are likely MUCH worse than what you get off Temu now

I'd say buy one, or just buy a used Lyne dropper off the classifieds and a rebuild kid for a few hundy if needed.

Just buy a used dropper off marketplace. It will pay off when you need to service it and can't get parts. You can pick up a Lyne for R1000-1500 if you are patient.

I'll have a a couple freshly serviced Rockshox Reverbs available soon for R1500

Don't get me wrong I buy a fair bit from Temu, but something like that, nope.

I've been very annoyed with pretty much all the HRM's I've had over the last few years. Sigma worked fine for 3 years and then as soon as I started doing more hours it broke, two Wahoo's that broke within a year (one replaced under warranty, didn't even bother with the next), Garmin HRM strap broke within 6 months (works well with generic Temu straps, but once the first battery change happens it motors through batteries).

So looks like HRM's need to be seen as consumables, and if so, might as well get the cheap ones. Some cheap Magene's on Aliexpress, but I'm going for the Xoss X2 Pro which has a rechargeable sealed battery and can be found or sub-R500. Aliexpress tends to go through the post office which (at at least in my area) has always worked pretty well. Let's see if this might be the answer to my problem.

Alloy boost fork....not sure what I will use it for...but price was good. Haha. I'm sure I can find a suitable mrb frame for it here on the Hub. Still got some other cycling goods that should arrive in this week...full Temu build project (except frame and probably wheels) is loading.Β

My latest haul from Temu. Full carbon 3D knockoff saddle for around R450 and 3T knockoff carbon seat post for just a bit less plus a few TPU tubes for around R80 each. I've also found CST tan sidewall tyres for my vintage bikes at around R250 each. I cannot find anything local that comes close to that price. Initial impression is good but let's see how long they last πŸ€™

Question, how do you stop those oval seat rails from creaking? I tried a saddle with carbon rails and the creaking drove me crazy! I'm assuming that my seat post is designed for round rails and the ovalised carbon rails just didn't fit properly..

Decided to try one of the Ryet Temu saddles. 3d printed top with carbon fibre base and rails. So far so good.

I've had no issues. I did gift one to a friend and he said the 3D printed stuff came off the carbon, but he also is... less than careful... with his bikes so your mileage may vary.

I'm on 1 for about 8 months of road riding. Holding up with zero issue. Really enjoying it actually.

How hard is the padding or the 3d hardness if you can say that? is it squishy or just hard/soft enough

I dunno how you prefer it.

Its definitely more forgiving than my MTB Selle Italia ti, yet not soft to cause numbness.Β
