Ja....that's the one. They make some seriously nice kit! Very practical. They seem to be taking the fight to Camelbak bigtine. They certainly are thinking of a few things camelbak never did.

 

That being said, a buddy has one of the US Army spec Camelbaks that he got from a friend who works in Iraq....very cool!

Saloman, Fox, Karrimor and Dakine all make quality hydration packs for good value and look just as cool as anything else out there. As great as the Camelbaks are, they're a bit ott in terms of price.

Ek het my dunlop hydration pack nou al van Feb 2008 af. Ek is 'n 100% roadie en het een gesoek wat meer streamline is. Ons ry op 'n tandem en haal gereeld 70km/h ek weet nie of dit moontlik sal wees met 'n tent sak om my rug nie.

Ons is seker die enigste tandem met hydra packs. As julle dalk weer 'n padwedren doen kan julle ons nie mis nie.  Die bestuurder het net gese hy stop nie by waterpunte nie en toe sien ek al hoe vrek ek van dehidrasie. Dunlop beweer die hydrapack kan 2l water vat, maar ek dink ek kry omtrent 4l in dan is hy tjokvol. Ek vat nog my waterbottel ook saam. In 'n 100km wedren suip ek 5l water op. Ek weet nie hoe ry julle ouens 6ure met 2l nie.

Met die prys in ag geneem wat betaal word vir 'n raam wat 700g ligter is kon ek nog nie besluit of dit dalk meer effektief sou wees om eerder by die waterpunte te stop as om 7kg ekstra water saam te ry nie.

Not sure of the price, but I do know you can get it from Mikes Bikes.

The only issue I have with it, is that it's not that comfy on the bike and doesn't have a hydration pouch (which we thought it did)

If you have 2-3k you can buy one of Lowepro's adventure packs. Fully waterproof plus a hydration pouch and bladder etc.... Lemme know, I deal directly with Lowepro here.

 

Also I see there's a company called Lezyne bringing out some sweet products, especially their hydration systems which are extremely well made and priced.

Jy kan Camalbak spares kry van hier tot in De Aar. Nie dieselfde met Dunlop of Ryder nie. Plus CB se bite valve is nou maar net 20 keer beter.

Plenty mense wat ek ken het op die ou end hulle "alternatives" packs verkoop en maar 'n Camalbak gekry. MULE is 'n legend. 3l water en meer as genoeg pak en hang plek. Nie noodwendig XC race friendly nie (is bietjie te bulky vir dit) maar doen die ander 99,9% damn goed.

for people comming to the other side , how do you deal with having energy drink in one water bottle and plain water in the other ??

 

With a hydration pack is it a case of either energy or water?

Water in my 'bak, energy in waterbottle. Generaly I don't drink disolvable energy drinks while riding, I prefer Gels for races and stuff like that. I prefer the sweet taste of good ol' faithful H2O.

 

But if you prefer you can have energy drink in hydro pack. It's up to you.

Fanie ek kannie namens Dirt en Marius se brands praat nie' date=' maar my Sportsman's Warehouse hydration pack is fine solank jy dit net vir jou drink wil gebruik.

 

Probleem kom wanneer jy 'n k@khuis vol spares en tools en snaks (een ou het even 'n tampon in syne gehad - don't ask me why).

 

Die punt wat ek probeer maak, check vir extra luggage space, want dit is nice om te h? en myne het amper forkol.

oooo, ek het toe Deuter gegaan. Ongelooflik rugsak daai en by verre die maklikse een vir skoonmaak en drinks mix. Het hom nou al 'n jaar en love dit.
