Thats fast! Just saw this on fb and wanted to post it here for you, now for anyone else that might be interested.

 

We've revised our legendary ST-R Cromo Hardtail frame for 2018, and now we've revised the pricing!

• Totally Revised for 2018

• Longer Slacker Geometry

why not 130mm - 140mm

The 1st new frame/bike that I have bought since 2006. It feels like Xmas.

Because the bike still has the geometry of a 1997 XC bike. 

 

You get what you pay for. 

 

With a 69° STA and sky-high BB. Good luck getting up any climbs or around corners. 

 

You sure are a well posted and well respected BikeHub member and contributor. 

 

But does it do any good to knock someone else's  bike purchase about which they are clearly very stoked?

Seat tube angle is actually 72.5 degrees

Head tube angle is 69 degrees, which is pretty up to date with current trends for this type of bike.

The BB drop is much lower than before and I find that it climbs and corners really well.

The toptube is actually 7mm longer than than Spez Epic hardtail ( in L frame), the BB drop is 1mm lower and the HTA is 0.8 degrees slacker.

It is obviously important to compare bikes of the same application type.

What do you ride?

No problem on our double black route, which is pretty steep.

Super comfortable ride.
