for a commuter it is a solid ride!

know a couple of riders on this bike model .... see if you can "upgrade" the wheelset though from the standard cup and cone to their Novatec sealed bearing wheels and you will be cruising.

The steel frame also comes with a lifetime warranty and the Rook guys are just lekker to deal with.

Thanks Hairy, looking at the Rook One Matt Black for those windless Cape Town days...  When they come back...

The SS with a medium to heavy gear ratio actually makes riding into the wind easier than riding a gear bike ... don't ask me how or why, it just does......

Anyone have a 29 suspension fork with a straight steerer they want to sell? I'm looking at replacing the rigid fork on my On One

I don't have what you want, but when you get it, I'll take that rigid out of your way...

I found myself on the Eastern Cape coast, 139km short and three days to go to complete the Rapha Festive 500, and only this machine to ride.

I had forgotten how wonderful exploring for 3 hours a day along cattle paths, dirt tracks linking rural villages, climbing 80m in .7km only to bomb down the other side and realise this is the only way back on a SS dikwiel can be.

Ps. And then I got bitten by a snake.

Blood on his leg is actually from the snake.. not Eddy.

My FIL god bitten by snake at groenies ( fell over into the grass, and only realised a little later he got bitten.

Years later, the bite is still not 100% healed.

Order placed - went for the chrome look, and a couple of minor improvements/upgrades - stoked!  Wife is going to kill me...
